Abhinav Mukund

Abhinav Mukund is a left hand opening batsman from Tamil Nadu.
Known for his well developed game through the offside, the 23 year old has been a prolific run scorer on the Indian domestic circuit with averages of 50.98 and 53.42 in First Class and List A cricket respectively.
Mukund scored hundreds on his Ranji Trophy debut in 2007 and Irani Trophy debut in 2009 and like his RCB teammate Cheteshwar Pujara, he has a knack for big scores in domestic cricket – he already has four double hundreds and a triple century in Ranji games. Mukund was also a part of the victorious squad of 2008 U-19 World Cup under Virat Kohli.
A part of the Chennai Super Kings squad between IPL 2008 and 2012, Mukund played just two games in the inaugural season in 2008.
He made his Test debut against West Indies in 2011 as a replacement for the injured Virender Sehwag and steady performances there earned him a place in the Indian squad touring England, but poor scores kept him on the bench after the first 2 tests. Although he has been not been able to break into the Test side again, his domestic performances have earned him the captaincy of the India A side.
