Born in Bangalore, Abrar Kazi played his first FC match in the Vijay Hazare trophy. He is a left-arm orthodox spinner and bats left-handed. Representing Karnataka against Tamil Nadu in Feb 2011, he took the 3 very important wickets of Murali Vijay, Abhinav Mukund and S Badrinath for his career best figures of 3/34 at an economy rate of 3.40.

In his last match of the same tournament, he performed very well by claiming 2/28 wickets at the economy rate of 3.50 and contributing to the win! He played a total of 4 matches in the tournament taking 7 wickets in all.

Kazi's wicket-taking ability gave him the Red-n-Gold colour with team RCB in the IPL 2011. However, he was the part of playing XI for only 1 match and could not claim any wickets against RR. However, at 21 and with his improving bowling tactics, he shows promising signs of making it big in the game.
