I am the most fanatic RCB fan because... In IPL 1, when nobody believed in the Royal Challengers, I did. I always knew this team was good, they just needed a strategy change.
Strategy Map for RCB - Airtel Champions LeagueMy preferred line up : Jack Kallis, Mark Boucher, Ross Taylor, Rahul Dravid, Manish Pandey, Robin Uthappa, Virat Kohli, Praveen Kumar, Anil Kumble, Dale Steyn, Vinay Kumar, B Akhil.
why do I prefer this line up : The strategy here is to pick 6 batsmen, 1 wicket keeper and 4 bowlers. Kallis and Boucher will open the batting followed by Ross Taylor, Dravid, Pandey, Uthappa and Kohli. The methodology here is to have your best batsmen come upfront and face the maximum number of deliveries.
My opening match strategy: Open the bowling with Dale Steyn and Praveen Kumar, attack the opposition and try to pick up early wickets. Styen is fast, Praveen is accurate. Take the initiative early by putting your best foot forward. Once a few early wickets are in the bag, bring on Anil Kumble and keep the pressure on.
Open the batting with your 2 best and ost experienced batsmen Kallis and Boucher, Bouchers should not be wasted at no 6 when the match is literally over. Bring them in to bat early where they can be most dangerous. Don't keep you big hitter Ross Taylor back for too long. Bring him in at no 3. The top 3 are the most important, bring your best batsmen in the top 3 spots and attack from the very beginning.
