A player with immense talent, Arun Karthik is a right-hand batsman from Tamil Nadu. Relatively
untested at the T20 level, Karthik proved his mettle by scoring a century in his debut match for Tamil
Nadu against Karnataka in the 08/09 Ranji season. An elegant and stylish opening batsman, Karthik's
languid batting style often inspires and leaves spectators asking for more.
But before that, Karthik made his List A debut for Sri Lankan side Badureliya Sports Club in
November 2007, scoring 38. An ever-present name in the Badureliya one-day team line up during
the 2007-08 season, Karthik finished as their highest runscorer.
Karthik was part of the Chennai Super Kings in IPL3 and was picked up by the Royal Challengers
Bangalore before IPL 2011. Karthik barely got a chance to bat in the IPL but showed that he is worth
his spot as a wicket keeper.
RCB Highlights
RCB vs RR, Bangalore
Karthik helped keep the pressure turned on after RCB had quickly come back into the match,
assisting in the run out of Ajinkya Rahane and catching Johan Botha to turn a decent looking score
into a very poor one.
