Discover Durban with RCB : Selecting the winners
Natasha at RCB , 30 Aug 2010
73 Comments

We have mentioned to all the fans that you will be in charge and responsible for the fans that win. This is of course true but just need to clarify with you that we will be monitoring the working of the recommendations on every application.

The Community Managers know your work, we need your help to identify the best 3. The fans will write recommendations to help us figure the best 3 out. What matters here, is not the number of recommendations but the quality of the recommendations and who they are coming from i.e. if they are coming from real/old fans who actually were present when you helped RCB - because that is what will count.

Also request all of you to ensure that you have your passports ready. We will be announcing the winners to the contest on the 3rd of September and on the same day itself we will need the winners to send across their passport and necessary documents. We will require this for your travel and to ensure the visa process goes through smoothly.
These are the documents we request everyone applying to the contest to keep ready with you, so you can send it through to Bangalore on 3rd September
1. Valid Passport

2. Three Photo's with white back ground

3. A covering letter from applicant - addressed to Visa Officer, Consulate of South Africa, Mumbai

4. Personal bank statement - last 03 months with bank seal / In case of a student parent’s bank statement / Fixed deposit or some document to prove financial stability

5. Proof of accommodation - residential address, permanent address proof.

If you have any doubts, let me know. For those of you who haven't applied yet. - Apply to Discover Durban with RCB

A group formed will be harmful to this site...We need a true RCBian who will work for the RCB...And not for his /her personal interest..its my kind suggestion...!

true fnatic fn will not insigte others to write stupid comments..for whatever reasons...I had 9 thupms down...in the beginning...some one taking back seat...he is not true to this site...sad but true..!

No point squabbling here............ as it anyway leads to no where as always.
spirit on 01 Sep 2010, 10:38 PM
I took some time and read all the comments..
As raghunath sir experienced the probs in results of FFC1. I experienced it during FFC3..

Anyways my concern is about selection process.
I think raghunath sir's idea of selection is marvelous. Its u who have to consider the efforts of the fan and give them. This voting, reference system never can give the genuine fan a gift for his loyalty, Comments, and the useful and worthy comments, worthy blog, something like this should add points in results,

I think the mods should consider both the content of application and content of reference..

Reason :
You say u consider only references from old loyal fans. If the fan is old and loyal. Don't you think he would have participated in this contest?
Don't you think he will have the strong urge of winning it.? Why will he or she pass worthy comments? The only case is barter system. You give me one, I will give u.. :)
(PS Not always, there are some exceptions)

If and if you mods have time. Go through the application and give preference for both content of application and content of reference. Something like 60 - 40 weightage.

(I know it was difficult for you to go through those apps for FFC3, at least now try go through the 10 to 15 apps which have come in. :) )

Let the best fan win it and enjoy the journey :)

Thankie

Thanks Natasha for the updates.

I am seeing lot of changes in the Discover Durban.

1. No Disagree button - good
2. I dont see comments posted on my app nor on other apps - Not sure about this, atleast i should see comments posted on my app.

@Natasha Thank you so much for coming up with this! Hopefully this means I'm out and it'll put an end to all those "lovely" messages I've been recieving on facebook! Not to mention the ever amusing argument of whether or not I am an Indian citizen lol...

Great idea sirji.I hope this idea works good and soon.An uber cool one!

@sujan: Thumbs up for the idea!
KunJan on 01 Sep 2010, 07:01 PM
Raghu sir has rightly said that there is a need for some innovation. At the end of these contest, you guys would not want a three happy faces flying to Africa and hundreds of disappointed faces back in India.

One more suggestion, appoint Raghu sir as a consultant for RCB. And I am not kidding on this. You can form a panel of say three members( Raghu sir should be one of them). Before any contest or activity for fans, you can consult this panel on the course of action you have decided. Based on the feedback you can make the necessary changes in the format.

I know you guys would not think any wrong for the fans. But I think this idea if implemented will give a better feedback as regards to what really the fans think. The expertise of some of the fans can also be used for the betterment of the fan club.

And consulting is not really that bad, else it wouldn’t have been one of the most lucrative and well-paid job for IIT’s and IIM’s guys!
Sujansalian on 01 Sep 2010, 06:58 PM
Please read the updated portion of the blog post in italics and bolded, should help clear out any controversy. Thanks
natasha@RCB on 01 Sep 2010, 06:54 PM
Please let me clarify that we will be checking to see how many people have just logged in and recommended you and how many are actual old fans. If the recos that you see are not all from actual old fans we will not consider that. We want the real fanatics to win, not through getting new fans to vote and win.

We actually want people who have enjoyed what you have done to vote. and we know that a new fan cannot do that because he would not know what you have contributed to the fan-club.

Kunal, Raghu.. we are monitoring everything.. Don't be dis-heartened, this is about the real fans!
natasha@RCB on 01 Sep 2010, 06:23 PM
@Natasha

The noise I made was to let you know my displeasure at the way you folks continue to take the same beaten path. You can do it but not at the cost of "fan sentiments".

FFC1 - Over 20 fans made huge noise on voting, process, fakes, etc
FFC2 - No change in the vote-based contest.
FFC3 - No change in the vote based contest
DD - Further aggravation of the vote based contest.

All this points to the fact that "EC wil run the show in their preconceived way" - no matter what fans say. Of course you have the mandate to do that way.

A doubt I raised on votes vs recos on your first DD post went unresponded.

As already informed, I've opted out of the contest. I'm sure you will respect that decision. So please do not take the trouble of "verifying my recos".

But do ensure you adhere to the promise you have made to your fanatic fans in your earlier blog announcing DD - in letter and spirit.

If these contest are built around "respect for genuine fans" and not on "marketing gimmicks", you wil not find us wanting in accepting mistakes and moving on. The owners showed respect for fans in formalizing this community - we shouldn't be expecting them to supervise it. It is for the executioners to do it with perfection.

This topic is 'closed' as far as I am concerned.
Raghunath on 01 Sep 2010, 02:38 PM
I don't know how i missed reading this post!
It's sad, really, now I'm starting to see things just like everyone else is..

For "those of you who have the highest votes, ensure you have your documents ready" - It's sad, if you are rewarding loyal fans, do it unconditionally, why use it to get more "fake" people on the fan club, had I known this before, I wouldn't have applied!

If I had known this before, i wouldn't have care spending four hours behind that lengthy application.. i feel disheartened, disheartened by the fact that even after the arguments of your loyal fans (Raghunath, Radiosandeep, Vinayak, Shanks, Sachin, Allen, Rakesh) there has been no change in rules, which means you really don't care!

Why do you even have to announce the winners, they will know themselves from the maximum vote count..

Rocckky then deserves to go on this trip, he has the right skills to get votes and get selected!

Raghu, I didn't know your application was rejected in FFC1, it's truly sad, and I understand why you never really applied for any other contest..

@Nidhi @natasha: There is nothing you can really do to clean up this mess. I wish I could suggest something, but there really isn't anything!
KunJan on 01 Sep 2010, 12:59 PM
Till my entry has not be forwarded to contest page. please do it. kindly acknowledge the receipt.
Satya1 on 01 Sep 2010, 12:23 PM
@Raghunath: We want you to know that we value you as a fan and we know your contribution to the site. Like I’ve mentioned before we will be verifying your recommendations, every single one of them..

Satya1 on 01 Sep 2010, 11:35 AM
Maddy, nice to hear a young boy wanting me to cool down. I will dear,, don't worry.

The problem is "lack of innovation" in avboiding these disputes. Here is an idea I'm giving "free of cost" (KPMG or E&Y will charge 25 lakhs for this idea - add 50 pages of text to a 1 line idea).

1. The comments of every fan on this site should be monitored and counted (it still can be - just a PL/SQL query will do).

2. During these contests, every fan will get a "voting weight" of 1 vote for every comment. This means a fan who has made 20 comments during the period (in this case March 01 ro Aug 24) will carry a vote weight of '20'. Compared to Juliet and Anjali who have not made anny comment!

3. Now welcome to the Juliets, Romeos and Anjalis of the world. Register, bring your friends, siblings and colleagues along! Vote as much as you want!

:)

1000s of these 'ideas' have been given in the past. I recognize there would be budget and bandwidth constraints. But can't impose an "imperfect contest" for this reason.
Raghunath on 01 Sep 2010, 08:36 AM
@Raghunath: i hadn't know about FFC1 and therefore didnt know anything about the finalists. You were not shortlisted for the final 9??? Shocking!!!!!
radiosandeep on 31 Aug 2010, 11:07 PM
@Raghusir:sir i am sure the admins will be working on new process to select the winners.please cool sir.you are a superior member in our website.
maddydravid on 31 Aug 2010, 11:00 PM
Guys

It is not worth arguing for too long on these contests. The process of (s)election of winners has been very clearly described and no change has been made in the light of concerns expressed!

I have no "fancy" for going to Durban but am very sensitive to sight of anyone taking me/my society for a ride. If am desperate, I can go on my own too! I don't have to ask my dad for money!

Hear this story:

I participated in FFC1 and was longlisted in the first pass. I took it "sportively" - and you know how much I've been active here. I shamelessly want to say that my application was "superior" to any other applicant in FFC1! I assumed "votes" did me in because I put in my app 34-36 hrs before FFC1 and I only had a handful of votes. Was shocked when applicants with less "votes" than me got shortlisted when a few 'standbys' had to be called in due to drop outs.

That was when I told myself: "Whoever dropped my application to the ground has neither played cricket not understands "fan sentiment".
Nor do they know how to set up social contests of a "close and passionate community" - I belonged to the community even before community formally came into existence!.

(You can set up contests this way for new product introductions, not for RCB Fan Club).

That story explains why I don't participate in Blogger Contests! Now and Forever - till the "votes" system is scrapped! And some corrections in eligibility criteria are brought in!

Take a "careful look" at every word and every sentence of every communication on Discover Durban. Take a look at what's actually going on. You can see the gradulal shift - "reward passionate fans who have given their valuable time" .... "collect votes" .... "fans ( The 1 Minute a******s) will take responsibility and decide the winners" ...."highest votes guys keep the documents ready" ...

I see crap in all colors on the roads every day .... but not in this color!
Raghunath on 31 Aug 2010, 09:23 PM
ok, now let's divert our attention to another fun poll and see what results that throws up:

"the way to differentiate b/w a word and a diamond is by providing links to their work. which is why we need those links in support of whatever you have written and we want fans who have consumed your content to vote.. that is what we will count eligible. "

Absolutely! That should be the only decisive criteria. Besides, what I meant was that, being CM's you guys are capable of looking through genuine RCB fanaticism and well meaning posts as well as posts aimed at Airtel CLT20 too :)

I spoke about stone and diamond :(
Wizardprince on 31 Aug 2010, 07:53 PM
I totally support what Raghu sir and Sandeep have said...

@wizardprince: the way to differentiate b/w a word and a diamond is by providing links to their work. which is why we need those links in support of whatever you have written and we want fans who have consumed your content to vote.. that is what we will count eligible.
natasha@RCB on 31 Aug 2010, 03:44 PM
@shankz: very valid argument. You should voice your opinion at their applications and that way they will have some more votes in their favour.

We have kept the votes open to everyone to ensure that the fans tell us how much they enjoyed the content updated by the fanatic fans.

@Raghunath: you withdrew your papers? what do you mean? :S
natasha@RCB on 31 Aug 2010, 03:23 PM
Interesting chain of posts going on here...we need smart thinking and mature people like sanjay and Raghunath who kinda moderated the discussion.

I agree with Vinayak on the Disagree button option. Thanks Shankz for your comments about my loyalty. You made my day! I would like to borrow Raghu sir's line here--- Some loyalties remain for life!
praveen-rcforlife on 31 Aug 2010, 02:35 PM
As the contest has traveled a long distance already, I think the best way would have been to allow any user to cast just one vote of agree and one vote to disagree from his account and not in multiples. Also to list the active participants and just not the fans who register today or in the past who registered to vote for friends and relatives. More than the number, I think we should focus on qualitative contributions from fans for the betterment of the club.

Lets not further crib on who the winners will be, but, lets put in some serious thoughts leaving behind all the good, bad and ugly of the past.

@Raghunathji, well I did give a deep thought of withdrawing my application too, but, I sincerely request you to put up your application again and lets be sportive (I am not saying your are not sportive sir, please do not misunderstand me)in this front and pass on the message to forthcoming fans that "ALL IZZ WELL", all these things does happen in a family and let all of us put the act together and get the contest rolling.
vinayak-sanjay on 31 Aug 2010, 01:41 PM
Completely agree with Raghunath,Radiosandeep and Vinayak. I already knew the flaws yet applied for this and have never tried viral way or any any other way to ask for votes and will never :) It was just a way of remembering my journey on this website thru this exercise !! And as I always wanted to say contests come and go but the Real passionate RCB fans are for life !!!
Aak on 31 Aug 2010, 11:59 AM
I am travelling to SA for the finals at my own expense. No jostling for votes, likes and all that.
The voting should have been restricted to the fanatic fans so that the real "fanatics" get to travel to SA.
Turning it into a contest with voting open for everyone just makes the entire process "BOGUS". Sorry to use that word, but there was no other word I could think of.
Completely agree with Raghunath, Vinayak and Sandeep.

@CM: You guys know the kind of work Raghunath has done. Now, do you need votes from people to decide if his work was good or not? The world knows that he has been the one who has been churning out blogs one after the other and not just for the sake of it. Each and every post of his makes a lot of meaning.

Coming to Vinayak, he was the "IDEA CHAMPION" at the summit. Now, that speaks of the work he has done. He has also participated in FFC-1 and also came in at FFC-3 just to cheer the others and meet old friends he made at FFC-1. And he was called a "GATE CRASHER".

Finally to Sandeep- Tell me one thing he hasn't done. Be it conducting weekend cricket tournaments, online quizzeson the RCB site although he didn't need to do it, and also the numerous podcasts even after his stint as a podcaster was over with RCB.

Now if these people are not fanatics, then no one is! Just by getting people to register on the site doesn't mean the site gets 1 new fan. When I asked my friends to vote for me at FFC-1, atleast a 100 of them registered for the 1st time. Im sure by now, none even remember their passwords. That is no way to judge fanatics.

I know you guys in the social media may know more than me in this regard. Sorry if it hurt the sentiments of any but this was a truth that simply had to come out!
Shankz on 31 Aug 2010, 09:49 AM
Yeah Vinayak, clicking on disagree of other contestants is really a bad way of earning yourself a chance to go to durban. In such cases many of them will not even bother to read what the other person has written or what contributions he has made, all he does his vote as agree for his friend and disagree for all other participants.
Sachinbengaluru on 31 Aug 2010, 09:26 AM
@allen, @radio:

Looks like you guys converted this to a chatroom and had a ball all night!

@rakesh, @SVU - there is no ‘withdraw’ button - so I deleted the contents of my application! I didn’t wan’t a******s to comment on it without reading!

@disha - Sorry, don't agree with you. They just want more enrolments/registrations with the perks of becoming a "judge" from Minute 1 of their membership. The last mile of contest design has been a disaster. Thanks for your nice words anyway. Enjoy SA!

@radio, @allen - Anjali has been nice to me. She has spared me of her comments.

Rockky too has been nice to me - no gaalis, just a sit@home - same as what my wife tells when I’m not well. So I would say he is a “very caring” guy

Some Julieta female has also been wandering all over the applications and spilling chai! Thankfully, she did it on me after I removed my papers!

But they are all pointing out “bugs” which even big names such as Sachin and Microsoft couldn’t! So everyone should thank them instead of b*t*h*n* about them.

Anyways guys, I’m gonna sit back, relax and enjoy all that goes on over a Kingfisher. Some loyalties remain for life!
Raghunath on 31 Aug 2010, 08:46 AM
I agree with Raghunath and would like to withdraw from this contest please. I have also learnt that not only the votes and recommendations are asked from contestants, also they are asking their friends to disagree with other contestants. I dont think I can do that ever to win a contest.

The other issue I have is I am not able to recommend few contestants as I have already used the agreed button. I really wanted to put my positive thought of recommendation to Raghunath which I am not able to do. Can you guide me pls.
vinayak-sanjay on 31 Aug 2010, 07:40 AM
Please read the email I sent you. :(
soleiletchiots on 31 Aug 2010, 07:36 AM
In FFC3 i pinged, called, smsed friends to collect votes, but the end result disappointed me as 50 - 50 formula didnt work. This time around i am not even bothering to ask anyone to vote for me. If someone feels its good they will agree else they should disagree.

Also i completely agree that decision based on just votes may account for trouble, some non worthy candidate may be selected as a winner. I mean creating fake profiles and 1000's of them in hours isnt a big deal right.

Contest itself is neat except the selection part. I like the UI, nice FAQ's written by natasha and i for one am not seeing too many bugs in these pages except few cosmetic ones.
Sachinbengaluru on 31 Aug 2010, 07:21 AM
Now first its time for Royal Send off winners.Durban candidates please wait:D
maddydravid on 31 Aug 2010, 07:00 AM
lol...I was sure yu both would guess tat person :) I kno in de whole lot who can be so lame...Still wonder how he was made FF
allen-abhishek on 31 Aug 2010, 01:09 AM
Yes, Anjali's positive votes have increased from 6 to 11, the same time he became active giving negative votes to others and passing derogatory comments ;-)
radiosandeep on 31 Aug 2010, 12:54 AM
Dear CM's: Whoever, Anjali Saxena is, that person is indulging in personal attacks on most of the contestants in the 'Durban with RCB' contest. You should ban the fake as well as the real profile.
Wizardprince on 31 Aug 2010, 12:53 AM
@ Allen: "I for sure know who that is & I’m sure everyone knows also :p"

Isn't Anjali Saxena one of the fanatic fans, who is also contending for the ticket to Durban?
Wizardprince on 31 Aug 2010, 12:50 AM
@CMs: this is wat this Anjali Saxena guy has to say about me: "if u will send this FAT guy RCB will lost".
Can i request you to ban that person and also track him down and remove him from Fanatic Fans group?
radiosandeep on 31 Aug 2010, 12:45 AM
@ Allen: Yeah I believe you on that. When I thought of trying for this competition and thought about writing "I have written two dozen blogs, won this and that, participated in ABC chanting contest :P", I found it weird too.

Somehow, I couldn't do it. As for you, I believe that you are one of the worthiest contenders and an almost certainty to be flying out to my favourite Kingsmead.
Wizardprince on 31 Aug 2010, 12:42 AM
anjali saxena is a nice choice of name for a fake profile :-)
radiosandeep on 31 Aug 2010, 12:41 AM
Fake isn't the word I can use for that profile ;)
I for sure know who that is & I'm sure everyone knows also :p
allen-abhishek on 31 Aug 2010, 12:30 AM
@allen yeah even I observed that. That's a FAKE PROFILE :)
rakesh-katti on 31 Aug 2010, 12:26 AM
No Praveen, I felt strange indeed when I wrote my application..Trust me on this..
It was very weird for me.. :)
And yea, I still don't think I'm doing fine.. Hope the best one Wins.. Apart from Votes and recommendation :)
allen-abhishek on 31 Aug 2010, 12:25 AM
I don't think there is a problem in commenting on everyone's link. In fact, one should comment everytime one votes for someone and shouldn't be afraid of voicing his/her reason for the choice.

That's what the comments are supposed to be for. However, commenting shouldn't be a tool for personal vendetta.
Wizardprince on 31 Aug 2010, 12:25 AM
Natasha am not able to apply for the contest. U have made me CM for a week. This isn't allowing me to enter the contest. Can you plz help me. Can you plz give that mod rights after this contest results are out?
rakesh-katti on 31 Aug 2010, 12:24 AM
lol.. I can see the same person commenting on every ones list.. I saw on Kunal's & also Sandeep..
allen-abhishek on 31 Aug 2010, 12:23 AM
@ Allen: Great! I have never understood nor had a desire to be politically correct and haven't any experience of speaking like Politicians!

Since you know it, I guess you won't like being a politician either.

Moreover, you don't need to be one. You are doing fine in real too.
Wizardprince on 31 Aug 2010, 12:23 AM
I know how it feels talking like a Politician Praveen :)
And Sandeep, I know what you mean, btw check on my application.. I've got two disagrees from the same gal, I dono who's that though ;) Can someone vote us out twice??
allen-abhishek on 31 Aug 2010, 12:20 AM
@allen: these are sentences from natasha's post:

"overall the fans will be responsible for the winners they choose."

"For those of you who have the highest votes, ensure you have your documents ready."
radiosandeep on 31 Aug 2010, 12:17 AM
You are right Allen. There is no doubting that the CM's can differentiate between a stone and a diamond, but, the fact that stones try to dominate the scene and jump around with "I will do this, I have done that" type of political rhetoric is really amusing in a way.
Wizardprince on 31 Aug 2010, 12:17 AM
oops.. i meant 'thanks for ur comforting words disha' :-)
see, wat kind of an impact this word 'votes' is having on us :-)
radiosandeep on 31 Aug 2010, 12:14 AM
No matter how many votes you get or how many recommendation you get, The CM's will make sure they check the Voters & their recommendation before choosing the Winner ;)
allen-abhishek on 31 Aug 2010, 12:14 AM
There is no lack of funny people, who are jumping into the fray just because they want to go to Durban. These people have no history of regularity at this site and no future either if one has to predict..

If it has to be ballot power, then the voters should be genuine RCBians and the contestants shouldn't resemble our politicians.
Wizardprince on 31 Aug 2010, 12:10 AM
thanks for those comforting votes disha. and you have said it right. getting the genuine votes shouldnt be a problem. but wat if someone (who hasnt really been active) gets 2 times more non-genuine votes? Still a deserving candidate to win?
radiosandeep on 31 Aug 2010, 12:03 AM
@Raghunath & RadioSandeep- Agreed that 'the collect votes & refs' jazz hampers the 'real' deal. But we, in the fan club, know how active you'll have been. Be it writing an array of posts (read the mindboggling metaphor posts by Raghunath or the lively podcasts and engaging contests by Sandeep). So when it comes to garnering 'genuine' votes and refs you'll shouldn't/wouldn't have a problem. :-)
disha-shetty on 30 Aug 2010, 11:52 PM
Right! Have a poll among the Fanatic fans only. Why open it to people who would have never logged in to the site before?
radiosandeep on 30 Aug 2010, 11:40 PM
If at all the recommendations have to carry any weightage, then the votes should come only from the Fanatic fans and not from anyone outside the bracket.

There should only be genuine recommendations from genuine people and restricting it to only the Fanatic Fans can solve this problem.

And I even have one more restriction. College. I will be out of my house from morning 7.30 to evening 6.45 So where does I get time to collect Votes? :)
rakesh-katti on 30 Aug 2010, 11:17 PM
@allen hehe! maga dint refer only u ra.. After seeing so many applications, I found myself difficult to get into top three that too without my application ready right now. So thought this IDEA could cut down the list. And at least this would fill my FFC3 dreams a bit :)
rakesh-katti on 30 Aug 2010, 11:15 PM
How clever Rakesh :p
allen-abhishek on 30 Aug 2010, 11:11 PM
@rakesh:like me:(

I agree fully with sandeep and Raghunath Sir. You are creating something worthy and also giving a initiation to yet another facebook mess like FFC-3.

And as suggested by Raghunath sir we need a WITHDRAW button. :) With one more reason for it. If someone doesn't satisfies all the above condition and he is in top 3. He can withdraw himself.

@Natasha:i have just applied in this contest to see if i will receive good number of votes.i am glad i got allen and ragunath sirs vote.but i dont have a passport.:(.so please remove me:(

I second Raghunath. This contest is under severe threat of becoming yet another one rewarding those who have the time and intention to convince people to vote and write a reference.
I recd a mailer saying "RCB is rewarding its Fanatic – loyal and active fans.". How untrue this could turn out!!!! There are some who have applied, although they have done nothing worthy of mentioning, for the site or the club. Also, how difficult would it be for anyone to hire someone for a day or two and pay that person a few hundred bucks and ask that person to create IDs and write references?
Even if that wouldnt happen, is my fanaticism or contribution to RCB any less than an XYZ, who is better at getting all his friends (registered or unregistered) to vote for him/her?
Honestly, if the contest were to be what it claims, the winner SHOULD NOT BE DECIDED on the basis of votes and refs from any random registered ID on the site.
@CMs: Please save this contest before it is too late...

@Natasha

This sure looks like a “Facebook Loyalists” versus “RCB Website Loyalists” contest!

It was silly of me to have got sucked into and “applied” in a “vote seeking” “RCB Fan Count Enhancing” contest – I know that RCB Fan Count is 1000 times more than fan count on site.

I surely love a “free” holiday especially to watch a cricket match in an exotic location (though my client is praying that I lose!) - but I’m not the Facebook types! I tweet a lot, but won’t solicit votes, wont viral market any contests, unless I am in that business!

The design of this contest s 90% perfect, 10% imperfect! But the 10% has the potential to make the end result look silly!

Unlike the Lok Sabha elections!

It’s all about the difference between “Election” and “Selection”! Sorry if I misunderstood your original post ( “recommendation” rather than “votes”)

On the day I see a “ballotless” “selection” “contest”, I will surely put in my application! Do alert me if I don’t!

Could you please provide a “Withdraw from Contest” button? All elections in India have that provision! I don’t want my friends to waste time on painstakingly written recommendations.

Thanks!
