Let me introduce to you – Alison Jennings, wife of our beloved Ray Jennings. And I need to mention her because she was present throughout the FFC2 event yesterday night at Chinnaswamy stadium. A few of us spoke to her and what we concluded by the end of the conversation was that she is an ardent cricket lover too.
Our team reached the stadium by 9.30 and we were welcomed by some of the fans who had already reached there – Shashank, Radio Sandeep and Pradeep Sanyal. Within the next hour or so, the area was flooded with FFC2 contestants in Red and Gold and also with some fans and friends who had come to extend their support.
The finalists were all handed a kit with instructions and descriptions of their assignments. They were then split into groups which wandered around capturing a practice session happening on the other side of the stadium – through blogs, videos, photos and podcasts. They got around 1-2 hours to get their content in place and prepare a good presentation of their assignment to be presented to the judges.
Meanwhile we had a good food preparation ;-) waiting for us to be served hot. After lunch all contestants were gathered together and then redistributed in groups – this time every group had one blogger, one photographer, one videographer and on podcaster. The 8 groups were hollered one by one to a room on the rooftop where the 4 judges were waiting for them.
The panel of 4 judges for FFC2 included Anil Kumble, Ray Jennings, Sidhartha Mallya and the editor of cricinfo Sambit Bal. The auditions some say were exciting. Few others say they were grilling and that the judges made them bite their nails off.
At about 5-5.30, the final decisions were made. And the FFC2 winners revealed – the lucky 4 to be travelling with the RC team for 6 weeks!
The winners for FFC2 were announced by the judges–
Chief blogger : ANEESH, Chief Photographer : ASHISH PARMAR, Chief Videographer : SANDEEP M, Chief Podcaster : RADIO SANDEEP.
