Something I've noticed and has been brought to my attention several times... we have some AWESOME posts on this site. The bloggers have been working hard. But they don't get their fair share of comments. It's really hard to keep writing and being motivated to write when you don't have a loyal fan following and encouragement.

So! I propose, we FEED THE BLOGGERS. Every time you read a post that makes you smile, leave the blogger a comment saying 'good job' or something to indicate you've read it. Would it help if we had a "like" button near every post? (liking is easy!)

disclaimer: the creative team had nothing to do with the above graphic, that was purely me messing around in Photoshop :)

@nidhi.. It's the only thought that came to my mind! It's something you just need to accept as a blogger.. What matters is how many people read it.. A post on the most popular blog on RCB (with stats if possible including comments) is welcome :)

PS: A new face attending the Chennai RCB meet up.
Offtopic: You need to change the profile photo on RCB, You look quite old in this one (a lady in late 30's may be) :D

"no new mail" - nice metaphor!

I agree. As I was telling @RagsTweets (Raghu), everyone uses the internet differently.

Funny also, because in all the meet ups, people have quoted posts from all over this site - including some of mine from over a month ago. Previously, i had no idea I so many quiet readers! I honestly thought it was just rags! (kidding :)

That's the hardship of being a blogger.. I have friends who normally come up to me and discuss things that I have on the blog.. Some encouragement and some hardship.. "Why don't you put it as a comment? Somebody else would want to know a different perspective."...It's hard to convince people to leave a comment.. :(

I've once said this using a post to my readers:
For all those of you have their own blogs I need not explain what it feels like not to have comments on your posts…for all those who don’t have blogs….let me just say it is almost the same feeling of opening you mailbox and getting “no new mail”.
