@Raghunath- Thanking your family :) Being chosen by Dravid after facing a volley of 'relevant' questions makes the victory even more special :) And even if i wasnt appointed as the chief, my loyalty wouldn't have swayed one bit.
disha-shetty on 02 Sep 2010, 10:11 PM
Hi Disha

My wife and daughters convey their comgratulations to you on winning something you've been passionate about! All the best!

Feisty! is the way to be, sometimes!!

To all my friends who made it to Last 21 but lost out, I'm sure RCB will have more4u :-)

Thanks to the judges who, in my opinion, have not disappointed their fans.

@RCBFC Things are changing for the better :-)
Raghunath on 16 Aug 2010, 09:19 PM
@Pris: i think you are getting way too personal. not healthy at all. you can express your dissatisfaction without naming or tarnishing any one person's image. please let's maintain decorum on this site....
radiosandeep on 13 Aug 2010, 08:45 PM
ok looks like i've missed a lot of chatter here since last night...
@Disha: i am not against your candidature. As already mentioned, you are a proven RCB fan and an established writer who came very close to winning on the previous two attempts. I was only a little surprised how the rule was tweaked for you, whereas requests from previous FFC winners like Siva and I to be allowed to participate, weren't heeded to.
Having said that, it's not that my career hinges on FFC. I have had my day in the sun, and i'd love to give others a chance (as u'd very soon come to know), but it would've have been nice if rules were the same for everyone.
radiosandeep on 13 Aug 2010, 08:36 PM
@Pris

There is no evidence of your existence in RCB FC or your love for RCB in the past, no one has heard of you as a Fan Club member and you are not even a contestant.

When that's the case, I wonder why a "Delhi" "girl" has to bother about the "goings on" in a "Bengaluru" "Club".

Jaywalkers can't be stopped in the social media space - so you can have your fun!

At this rate, RCB Fan Club will end up becoming Mother India - taking care of fans and fakes of all clubs in India.

If you are not going to read this comment or visit this website, this fan club will be so much a better place for RCBians.

Thank You!

BTW, you are also "dear" to me - provided you are a human being and not a "CyberWoman"

;-)
Raghunath on 13 Aug 2010, 08:06 PM
Raghu,

It's really pitiable to see you speak like this to a woman. If you had cared to read my complete comment rather than my justified references to your dear Disha Shetty, u would have seen that it was my last comment in response to your dear lady. I din't want to tk this any further. Still, ur senseless remark forced me to reply for one more time.

You talkin abt me being jealous of Disha? ha ha...give me a sensible line of defence for a girl, who couldn't win a contest due to her lack of talent n had to ultimately resort to unfair means to win it. I m way ahead of such people. By the way, you seem to be a perfect woman as u r takin so much pain to gossip baselessly and I wonder what is the special interest that compels u to take Disha's side so strongly?

I will or won't upload my profile pic, but, that doesn't depend on the wishes of a person like you, obsessed with young girls. I m not interested in meetin u and don't try to use this blogspace for ur flirting attempts. Maybe u can try meetin ur Disha Shetty, u must be glad dat she is comin to Bangalore . Harp as much as u want, bt, u can't justify crap.

One last time, this discussion is over as I have many more important things to do in life rather than sitting in front of the computer whole day like you and doing nothing....so whatever you write from now on...i m not going to read it or even reply to it....Good Luck.
pris on 13 Aug 2010, 07:38 PM

Aruna-Desai on 13 Aug 2010, 01:06 PM
@akshit - ha ha..i cant stop laughing...i never had any application for ur very kind info....
n to mind my language i never said anything abusive...
Y r u whining so much abt ur votes...talent comes first not the votes...
i cant beleive 316 ppl actually voted for u seeing those photos n application...lol...
Navya-Ramaiah1 on 13 Aug 2010, 12:48 PM
see i dont have any personal prob with any 1 in this site,,,and i am also not making nay personal remarks any1 ....i just wanna justification...as these many people think selection was not upto the mark....so itz not ma fault///
akshit123456 on 13 Aug 2010, 12:45 PM
@navya....yup i can anywyas for ur kind info;//ma application was better than u ...and nly 10 photos were of cell phone.......and mind ur language here and no votd were fake...i think ur jelous of ma huge vote.......and plz//
akshit123456 on 13 Aug 2010, 12:17 PM
Thank you guys for making me a part of the Final 21! Its an absolute honor!
Congrats to all my fellow winners!
raghav-ramaiah on 13 Aug 2010, 10:59 AM
Guys,

i dont know about the other positions but i think the judges have done a great job in selecting the final 7 for the Chief Photographer.
come on guys the applications are there for anyone to see..

@akshit - did u really think u can make it to the final 7 with the pictures taken from ur cellphone??
Just by getting 316 fake votes u aint gonna be made the Chief Photographer.
dude get a life. Ur application made the voting process look cheap.
Natasha had already made it clear tat the selection will be based 50% on the votes and 50% on the content of the application.
Mr.Akshit even i can put 200 or 300 pics taken from my cellphone and put it in the application but does tat make me a gud photographer.

@all - Does anyone here really think that dis guy stood a chance amongst the pro photographers here.
It would have been injustice if this guy wud have been selected.

@pris - i dont understand wat u complaining abt?? u havent even applied ..so wat r u cribbing abt??

@Nisha - Sweety u cud have applied even on the last day as there was already a post from Natasha saying that they give 50% weightage to the votes and 50% to the content in the application.
If ur application was worthy enough to be noticed by the judges tat wud definitely give u an edge over others who just have votes and not a gud application.
Navya-Ramaiah1 on 13 Aug 2010, 10:00 AM
@Pris

You have still not stopped whining after I retired for the day last night!

Sometimes I feel you are picking on Disha because many women are jealous of other women and you are one such ;)

Sometimes I feel you are a male masquerading as a female, in which case you must be having some complex that a female has made it!

In any case, it will be nice if you can upload your photo and we shall meet ;-) ASAP ... (if Kingfisher pays for the airfare!)

Do stop cribbing about Disha - I would rather see a less competent but really fanatic RCB Fan win than a "marriage of convenience". When a Ram Jethmalani can become a "temporary resident" of Bangalore to win a Rajya Sabha election what are we talking about in so much making noise - of a private club rules!

There is no denying that fan management on this site needs "huge improvements" - and they will soon end up managing a floating population of "fanatic fans" - but don't pick on one individual and beat her up badly!

Be more subtle ... like me ;-) ;-)
Raghunath on 13 Aug 2010, 08:50 AM
Congrats to the shortlisted 21!

With that said, I do feel there are a few selections which puzzled me. Having no votes or references and still making the cut? Huh? I mean, I've been swamped with work until this Wed, but I thought against applying at the last minute because I knew my application wouldn't be at par and I'd hardly get a few votes. It's a bit unfair to both those that didn't get selected and ALSO the deserving people in that list. I'm optimistic, however, that the eventual winners will be deserving ones. Good luck to all!
soleiletchiots on 13 Aug 2010, 07:25 AM
hey!!! why is this comments section becoming a battleground?? the final 21 have been shortlisted & congratulations to all the finalists. :-)
the wild card entry of suhas2090 came as a bit of a surprise but i honestly believe that this candidate had written very well & handled the application quiet nicely.
once again, congratulations to all the finalists & see u all there on the 16th. :-)

Hey Akshit,

Let me speak like Mr Kalmadi "Let's now focus on the eventual successful organization of the contest."

Btw, I remember you mate. You are the same guy, who fanatically travelled all the way from Indore to Delhi, to cheer RCB in the Delhi game. See you again someday!

Thank you Natasha and Nidhi, the judges and all the moderators.
Thank you the people who voted for me and took time to read my application and write out references.
I'm thrilled to be in the seven shortlisted for the blogger category.
I await further news and development keenly. :)
gautam-krishnamurthy on 13 Aug 2010, 01:26 AM
ok guys as one of the 21 finalists i am obviously ecstatic!! i have just been reading through the comments and man are they some sour grapes out there!! u all have to keep in mind at the end of the day rcb is a huge and much loved brand and natasha and nidhi are under tons of pressure to pick ppl who fit all the criteria they are looking for.. some of you who were not selected might have been excellent in one area but lacking in others...i'm not saying tht just coz i got thru i am perfect( trust me i'm far from perfect ask my mom!!!) u' but maybe i was close to what they were looking for! chill for those of you who didn't get thru...ipl 4 isnt far away... and to the final 21... i know u guys will be great and worthy opponents!! natasha and nidhi,,, kudos... know it must be hard to read these comments after all the hard work u put in!!!
sherrie on 13 Aug 2010, 12:08 AM
@kunal ...where is the meet up tell me too ..i also wanna take thi smatter to him...all said that itz fab website and all
akshit123456 on 13 Aug 2010, 12:02 AM
More than Disha being selected it's about the others not being selected, which puts a big question mark on the whole selection process. As I stated in the discussion board, I will take this up with Sidharth Mallya in the RCB fan meetup on the 14th.
kushal-sheth on 13 Aug 2010, 12:00 AM
wow...finally smone from the EC came up with an answer trying to justify everythng and then she says she is not an employee of the company...:).....no matter what you say Disha, you yourself in your heart know tht there is a glitch in the selection process....nothing against you but it is all about work ethics....according to rules, an employee of the company or their family members or anyone connected to the employees can not participate in a contest run by the same company. However, you came up with your application dramatically.....not only this here the set up has already been made to make you win as a chief blogger coz in last two FFCs you were not able to make it as there were a lot of more talented people than you..and now they hv shortlisted the fans in a manner to mk you win...anyway...ths ws my last comment...i dnt have much time to waste here on such a biased website......tk care everyone.
pris on 12 Aug 2010, 11:56 PM
kushal-sheth every body waiting for the moderators to teelll....the answer
itz quite unfair
i am saying this again and again they have to give us the answer
akshit123456 on 12 Aug 2010, 11:53 PM
Quite unhappy with the results. 50% votes and 50% quality. I'd qualify on any of these terms. I haven't got a decent answer from any of the moderators yet as to why I haven't been selected. I'm awaiting the reply of the moderators.
kushal-sheth on 12 Aug 2010, 11:47 PM
@Shortlisted 21: Congrats!

@Raghunath- Thank you. I'm sure you had a tough time defying them all.

@Pris & RadioSandeep- I was very well aware of 'me at EC' issue being raised once I participate or get shortlisted. But the truth is.. I hadn't applied for a week and more since FFC was launched, because I didnt have prior permission from Senior managers at EC and also community managers Natasha, Nidhi. It was only when I got an approval from them that I applied. Also their approval is valid since I'm only an intern with them handling a project (part time) not concerned to RCB at all.

So you'll could remove the 'employee' bit. Also Its hardly 3-4 hours that I'm there. Working on a project which has got nothing to do with RCB or its management. I just had 2 days to apply after getting an approval.

So I'm just an ardent RCB fan, conducting meetups, applying for contests, participating in discussion like any other fan. And i can vouch for my loyalty unlike opportunists cashing in on the contests.
disha-shetty on 12 Aug 2010, 11:14 PM
Dear Sachin,

It is true that this is not the end of anything. I might also love to participate in another contest/event. However, the desire dies down if we are told that we were rejected by some unknown criteria and the judging panel doesn't consider those who lost out, to be good for the task.

It is another thing being told "better luck next time" and entirely different when one is told "you are considered incapable of the task". There is nothing left to do in the latter scenario.

I didn't make it through in the last FFC, but, the feeling was of pride at being appreciated and doing well next time. In the interim, I have done all it takes and now this statement virtually puts an end to things.

Thanks for the encouragement and support of opinion..
Wizardprince on 12 Aug 2010, 11:00 PM
/@ wizard ..welcome yaar..how u by the way .....remembewr me or forgotten me...
@sachin ,,,,,hopefully me to will come nxt year i thought yesterday this...but if such is going to happen then again no use of writing ,blogging etc....
akshit123456 on 12 Aug 2010, 10:56 PM
Thanks for the nice words Akshit. Wish good luck to you too!
Wizardprince on 12 Aug 2010, 10:52 PM
Agree on what you said Wizard Prince. I always like what RCB does on the field while playing and off it on the website.

I have written blogs, given suggestions, am a idea champion and won the IPL review contest. I have also sportingly accepted that i have not been selected. I am disturbed though and agree to many comments made by other people who are also disappointed on this forum. After all the hard work over last 10 days, this doesnt seem right.

I strongly believe that judging criteria should be transparent. 50-50 (votes and quality), passport (yes or no), last minute wild card selections seems fuzzy.

I am sure i will come back and play next contest coz i always believe that we will improve with failures, but i cant resist the feeling that if the same is the case with other folks who are deeply disappointed.
Sachinbengaluru on 12 Aug 2010, 10:51 PM
@ wizard prince u forgot to tell that u were als oselected as a mighty 14 ttoo for delhi....and at least more deserving than mee ....in blogger well keep ur good wor k..hope to c u again in delhi.....wish u luck inlife
akshit123456 on 12 Aug 2010, 10:45 PM
"Every person selected during the FFC and shortlisted go through a process that is followed and only those who we think can manage to do their job all through the tournament make it."

Dear Natasha,

Though, I didn't question your judgement, but, the above statement of yours, really hurts and disappoints.

You mean that I was judged through some unknown process, through which, the judging team came to the conclusion that I am unfit for the job of 'Chief Blogger'. If my memory serves me right, just a few months back, I was in the final list of FFC, which was probably short-listed by the same set of judges.

In the six months since then, I have written, probably the largest number of blogs on the site (deriving reasonable acceptance). I also was adjudged the winner of the IPL review contest and I believe the judges have been more or less the same.

If you rejected my application on the basis that I am unfit to do the job of the Chief Blogger, despite my being a professional writer, may I know what made you arrive at that decision?

Please do reply to this.

Truly RCBian

Praveen
Wizardprince on 12 Aug 2010, 10:40 PM
nearly every body i sunhappy......but what we can do ..we r just spectators here ,,we dont have anything in hand.....all can see yar itz biased ,,,if they have already selected the winners they shouldnt have such comp .....we r all groun ups...not a bunch of jokers...and see no rcb official is giving his or HERS OPINION TOO....JUST WAITING FOR ANSWER TOO COME FROM THESE RCBS OFFICIALS.....AND REALLY WANNA KNOW WHY I AM NOT SELECTED...
akshit123456 on 12 Aug 2010, 10:16 PM
i m too not happy with this short-listing. it is unfair. i think its not gud judgement.
CNP on 12 Aug 2010, 10:12 PM
@raghunat ..u idnt apply or u too also not selected.....if u taken part at least u should have been selected .....itz totally crab ....really.....u r more deserving by ur writing
akshit123456 on 12 Aug 2010, 10:08 PM
@Nidhi @Natasha

I'm sure you are reading the comments. I'm off to sleep now. You handle the rest of the reactions please. Thanks. :)
Raghunath on 12 Aug 2010, 10:05 PM
Raghunath,

I will read ur blog. I love RCB n I love being fair. Will wait for ur write up, however, I no longer can feel gud abt dis site.
pris on 12 Aug 2010, 10:01 PM
@Pris Hey, did you read my post "Flirting, Romance, Honeymoon...." ?
That was written keeping my experience and past observation in FFCs!

I assure you I will write an even better sequel to that "if the final selection" gives me a feeling that "Real "Fanatic" "Fans" are not getting the coveted job! In fact we can 'co-author' a blog post!

Till then, I would opt to love RCB - aberrations such as Purnima, Wizard, Sachin, Rakesh, myself having been longlisted notwithstanding

Smile dear, be happy if you are a real fan!
Raghunath on 12 Aug 2010, 09:58 PM
With this selection, the judging team has proven that when it comes to being biased and supporting their cronies, dey can go to any lenght.

dey can bring in their employee as a last hour entry and den kan bypass all ethics, norms or fan sentments to make her win. I bet that Disha Shetty will win da blogger field as dis is all a setup to favor her.

dere is gross bias in all categories, but, blogger short-list has proven that this conttest is a sham.

Nishit Doshi, Praveen Gupta, Rakesh Katti, Purnima Malhotra..
So may deservin names n u choose Disha Shetty, Ritish, Jackky???????

Even bias should be sesible, rather dan, such blatant favoritism.

FFC sucks with these kind of judges!
pris on 12 Aug 2010, 09:50 PM
thanx to all guys .....for saying and shwoing disintrest in this selection.....pla click dislike button too....they said that fans page and all ....do they really respect a fans heart or not...
akshit123456 on 12 Aug 2010, 09:29 PM
@radiosandeep It was EC that wanted Disha more than Disha wanting EC. I had advised Disha to make and insist on 'FFC participation' one of her expectations/conditions - I'm not sure if she did that.

No one will say that 'Disha got shortlisted because she works for EC'. If EC can influence Disha's selection, I agree. But they can't!!

The team that selects the final winners is not the Indian Cricket Team selection committee to get 'influenced' by extraneous considerations. I am sure, this committee in particular, will select

3 "Chief: "Fanatic" "Fans"

Or let's hope so!

:) :)
Raghunath on 12 Aug 2010, 09:25 PM
@ Sachinbengaluru u r right
both were having 50-50
then also itz bias clearly shows that
see all the guys who have been slected
akshit123456 on 12 Aug 2010, 09:22 PM
Really a question on one person getting selected, that person hasnt got any votes, any references and gets selected. It was 50% votes and 50% quality of application right. Correct me if i am wrong.
Sachinbengaluru on 12 Aug 2010, 09:13 PM
thanx a lot@sandeep for saying and showing symapthy .....but this time really very dissapoitnment .....but at the time of mighty 14 delhi it was good.....this time to nd 1 more thing a guy with just 20 votes and no written matter and buch of google photos selected too ..lolz…...is this was a joke or what.
akshit123456 on 12 Aug 2010, 09:09 PM
also, i'm not sure if i agree with Raghunath's version on Disha.
Agreed she is a proven RCB fan and all, but rules should be equally applicable to all. When they cant tweak the rule to allow previous FFC winners to participate, how could they tweak the rule to allow Disha to participate?
radiosandeep on 12 Aug 2010, 09:08 PM
It is sad but true. The shortlist hasn't been fair to many people. Without involving names, i wanna state that this biased selection has let many of us down, including me.
Some are not opening their mouths here, but have expressed their shock to me personally. Even those who are shortlisted are shocked that a few other deserving ones are not shortlisted.
Very disappointing.
My sympathies go out to the victims...
radiosandeep on 12 Aug 2010, 08:57 PM
any ways no personal offence and no personal prob with nay1
and i just wanna know why i am not selected..at least i should have come to top 7..
akshit123456 on 12 Aug 2010, 08:44 PM
@ushmna.....prove that /////any photos r google ???
no photo is google......
and plz mind ur business....ohk....itz india itz democracy ,,,and ma personal opinion
akshit123456 on 12 Aug 2010, 08:38 PM
Congrats to all those shortlisted.

Frankly I'm not as concerned about who is shortlisted and who isn't as about who 'finally' gets selected ;-)

Nidhi & Team seem to have done as best a job as they could, given the limited(?) options.

I was half tempted to post my application at 11.55 PM last night just to check what they will do if someone submits a "good(?)" application but with 0 votes and 0 references and a sure fan. I resisted the temptation and decided to simplify my life! :)

I'm glad that Parker has done exacty that - good application and he has been shortlisted.

I do not see any fault in Disha being shortlisted. She is an "employee" (?) of EC - but the selection will be made by Team RCB. Also she has been applying since last 2 FFCs - there is more RCBism in her than many others. She is a "known and proven" RCB Fan first and all else next.

For those keen on betting, Disha is the horse I would bet to win this race ;)

My prediction #1 last nght that @Suhas2090 will make it has already turned out to be true ;) ;) The nice thing about her application is that there is too much openness, transparency and honesty in it! In fact I can't understand why it should be considered 'wildcard' instead of Parker's

Women tend to be more grateful and faithful (and less infidel) to everything they 'earn or win' - by "luck or hard work" in life than men!!

Cheers

Good luck!

"Five unjustified wild cards in blogger category. It can't get worse than this.."

we have evry right to say everything coz we are the fans and they cant play with our emotions like this..i need an answer from them.....i think they must be looking for a place for themselves to hide their faces...they will never be able to show their faces with all this shit to the fans ...ha ha....

you are aboslutely right akshit...it was a joke actually...they are playing with the sentiments of the fans and they have already selected the people who are going to be the chief blogger/podcaster/photographer.........and if this is not the case...these people who are in the management are not fit for this job.

get some brain guys......

ARE YOU SERIOUS NATASHA,

I think you guys are joking...rgt? Is this your judgement....you think the people who cannot write well and who do not knw anything abt cricket can be a chief blogger for RCB team. My guess is that this website is being run by a bunch of jokers and biased people.......anyway...all the best to RCB team. However, with such super talented people in the management, i cn see where RCB will go in future....and hw cn Disha Shetty participate...if I am not wrong, she is one of the employee of the company...so hw is she eligible to participate in a contest run by the same company......

if this is what you think is right...i m never going to be an RCB fan...i ws thinkng of participating bt by the time this thought came to my mind it was too late...however....i m really happy tht i dint waste my time here on this pathetic and biased contest...i have so many other important things to do in life...:)
