Great Slogan from Fan Prabhat

Even though things are slow now - well slower than during ACLT20 - we still have a lot of new fans wanting to join the Fan Club. I got a terrific write up in the mail from fans Prabhat* aspiring to be an FF and write for RCB. I wanted to share his ending note:

*he's batty on RCB.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My message to all other teams and fans:

“like it or not ,challengers on top,

We’ll always shine, till our hearts stop”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

his complete write up is below. constructive criticism is welcome (he asked for feedback):

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Didi,Here is a trailer of how i blog.I have decided to blog about the domestic crickt matches from all over the world, especially RCB players if i ever get a chance to blog on the website.

A short write up on RCB

Namma city bengaluru’s fame has spread to every nook and corner in today’s world. A huge IT biz that gives all other IT aspiring and acclaimed centers a run for their money ,nice and calm weather that makes people fall prey and get mesmerized by the city, beautiful gardens that help you get a fresh breath and help you replenish your energy over a morning jog, a modern pub culture(I am not proud of it. Mallya sir may be angry on me for this comment) but some people do think this is a huge bonus on the city’s image, several lip smacking hangouts to hog……………this charming list of our great city never ends.

But the latest entrant into this unending list is the city being home to the red devils of cricket who have become a part of the city with a huge uproar and fan following. The numbers on the website just prove it!! This little baby of the brainchild of Mr.Lalit Modi is definitely the darling of the city. Right from high profile fashion designers to tailors who keep working with their machines all day long have been spotted by me taking off from a busy schedule just to cheer for the team and pray for it to strike an evergreen patch by meat menacing any opposition every time they play. The furor caused by the team has unprecedented all expectations. This fascination is definitely fitting for the ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE whose aggression and flamboyance (just like it is owner) remains unmatched heading into the third year of IPL. The spirited reply in IPL II to its blackened image after a sad show in IPL I and being the team that performed the best out of the teams from the Indian soil definitely proves it.

The team composition is just like bingo”no confusion great combination” .Spicy foreign dishes blended along with spicy Indian talent makes up this exuberant combination. Pandey and uthappa to provide a roaring start, kallis and dravid to consolidate in the middle overs ,ross taylor, boucher and virat to do the destruction towards the fag end of the innings. A batting line up like this will surely send shivers down the spine of any opposing team. The bowling matches up with this highly acclaimed batting line up line up in an exquisite manner. Steyn’s pace, kumble leading from the front, the dutchie van der merwe tossing up his deleveries with a mystic turn every time, Praveen kumar swinging the ball both ways, talented vinay kumar makes this department of the team be envied by every other team .The bench is also really talented. Shreevats goswami ,who has impressed in the few chances he has got, Abhimanyu mithun , appanna and a few other Karnataka lads constantly making news in the domestic circuit. Ishank jaggi doing well enough to earn a call up into Board presidents 11,The unlucky seasoned run machine wassim jaffer always in limelight for his show in the ranji matches, not to forget other international stars like Cameron white, Kevin pitersen, Nathan bracken who can anytime come into the act and play top class cricket. This proper blend of youth and experience gives an upper hand when compared to other teams.Just the right arsenal to win a battle for you. With the best arms and ammunition.

I just hope IPL 3 will be shown off somewhere in the heart of the city with an open air bus celebration just like the one india had when they won the T20 world cup.

My message to all other teams and fans:

“like it or not ,challengers on top,

We’ll always shine, till our hearts stop”

I don't know why, but I missed reading this too! Ah, the newsletter went into my spam! I remember seeing it, reading it and just getting on with my work.. I didn't bother to get to the site :)

Prabhat: Welcome! Congratulations for the new title.. "Fan of the Month!".. U deserved it for this wonderful writeup!

Nidhi: Congratulations to you too.. :P For awarding Prabhat the title and giving him the blogging space he deserves.. I suggest you also put a small trophy image on his profile pic (something similar to a twibbon). This gives each fan a status :)

I dunno why, I sometimes feel that i should give up my fanatic fans space to somebody who deserves.. I rarely post a blog, and i only comment.. Being among such wonderful writers puts me in some kind of a mental block..!

@Raghu glad to see you back. Thanks for bringing in Zoooni. I agree about the fans-bringing-in-fans. It's happening, albeit slowly. We're implementing a ... ah... spolier alert.... point based system to encourage fans to invite more friends who will be active :)

Newsletter is available online as well - http://www.royalchallengers.com/nbuzz/email.html - and will continue to be tweaked until perfect. We're hoping to get players writing as well. Maybe not in the next issue - but it's the goal we're working towards.

I dunno how, but I had completely missed reading this page for a full month! The RCB Buzz newsletter brought me to this page!

Excellently writen, Prabhat. Great example of the inolvement and passion a true RCB fan should have for his team.

Nidhi - congrats for coming out with the newsletter. Will it be in email form or will it be a page/link on this site. Or both (preferred).

Somewhere in comments I see one from fan - zoooni - she is my Twitter friend and I take credit for inducing her to RCB Fan membership.

Guys and gals - if each of you can bring a friend "who participates", there can be lot more fun on this site :) Doesn't matter if you know them or not met them or not, seen them or not!
