IPL 6 Player Auction – As it happened
Yesterday was the day we all had been waiting for, the IPL 6 Player Auction day! This was the sixth player auction and the teams spent around $11.89 million and 37 players were bought.
We now have 7 new players, some big names and some who have shown tremendous promise. The auction started sharp at 11 AM. RCB fans were excited and were all set to welcome new players in to the squad. The RCB management and officials were seated at table no. 6 and the proceedings were about to begin.

Indian speedster Rudra Pratap Singh was RCB’s first pick of the day. RCB bought him for US $400,000. RP tweeted his happiness at being a part of RCB and said he looks forward to joining the team soon.

Post the break we added two more pace bowlers to our arsenal. Young gun Jayadev Unadkat and ex-RCBian Pankaj Singh were now a part of the RCB squad for IPL 6.
Jaydev Unadkat was stoked about his inclusion in Team RCB and here’s what he tweeted.

Team mate Harshal Patel congratulated him as soon as he heard the news.
Our next pick was Pankaj Singh, who had an excellent Ranji season. Pankaj was previously with the Rajasthan Royals. He also played for RCB in 2009.
Our next signing was big; it was the West Indies’ leading strike bowler Ravi Rampaul. Ravi has been in good form and has picked up a lot of wickets recently.
After Ravi Rampaul it was Christopher Barnwell, another West Indian who made it to team RCB. Barnwell’s performances in the Caribbean T20 did not go unnoticed. He has played 4 T20Is for West Indies. Here’s what Barnwell tweeted after he heard the news.

The concluding session saw another all rounder being picked up. It was the Australian all rounder Daniel Christian who made his way in to the RCB squad for IPL 6. Daniel played for the now defunct Deccan Chargers in the last IPL season. His bowling abilities along with pinch hitting skills will come in handy if there’s a middle order collapse.
All in all it was a fun filled day. Here’s how fans welcomed the seven additions to the red and gold brigade.
