Make way for Abhimanyu Mithun!

And 1 more good news for team RCB. Our tall, dark and talented Abhi has is now the part of the Blue squad for the series Land Down Under. Congratulations Abhi!

Ever since Praveen Kumar was ruled out of the squad due to rib injury, there were a lot of speculations about his replacements. Among the contenders, Irfan Pathan was leading the race; he made a good comeback and has already bagged 21 wickets in 3 games in the on-going Ranji Trophy League. However, Irfan has not played any international match since 2009. Meanwhile, Mithun bagged 9 wickets in the 4 Tests that he has played since 2010. Out of these 9 wickets, he picked 6 wickets in 3 Tests against Sri Lanka in the same year. Abhi has played 3 ODIs so far. Out of these, the first and the third were both played at Motera, Ahmedabad.

Abhi bagged his first ODI wicket in the third ODI yesterday, 5th December, 2011, against WI. He also scored 23 runs from just 16 balls: hitting 2 huge SIXES and 2 boundaries. This score, by the way, is higher than what 5 batsman scored, in the same match! :P

All in all, Abhimanyu is now back in the Blue and we wish him Good Luck the up-coming series. Dude, may you bag many more wickets and fix the spot permanently!

India squad for the series: India Squad: MS Dhoni (capt), Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Virat Kohli, R Ashwin, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Varun Aaron, Rohit Sharma, Pragyan Ojha, Abhimanyu Mithun, Ajinkya Rahane, Wriddhiman Saha, and Zaheer Khan (subject to fitness).

All the Best team! We will win it..! Cheers!
