Musings of a community manager

A personal post....

RCB feels like my baby. Whenever I check my Facebook or Twitter accounts (and sometimes Orkut), I make it a point to check RCB's as well. Since I have an iPhone and am conveniently addicted to the internet, that's almost always! Writing for this blog has really become a part of my daily habit... Even on weekends.

So, dear RCB community. I need to tell you something. Sit down. Breathe in. Breathe out. I'm going away for the weekend. That's right. Taking a break from the city. Going to explore southern Rajasthan! Udaipur in particular and maybe some of the neighboring towns and villages (travel & food suggestions in the comments please!!) It's going to be amazing. But I'm leaving my laptop behind. Which means I won't be blogging all weekend. This may result in a comeback from Sandip... maybe :P

So, here are some parting words.

1. Sometime tomorrow, head over the Airtel Champions League Review Contest page. The contest is open until Sunday night, but we're displaying all the reviews starting tomorrow. Don't worry about anyone copying/stealing your ideas - our jury isn't going on holiday so they'll be checking out the reviews over the weekend. AND after the deadline - so please feel free to edit and perfect it until Sunday midnight.

2. Have questions about the contest? Leave them on this post. I receive all comments via email, so I can reply via email (iPhone addiction, told ya). If I don't have net connectivity in Udaipur, the other fans will definitely help you out. So keep commenting.

3. Chennai meet up is in the planning stage for Nov. 14 - if you know any RCB fans there, definitely tell them to check it out on the blog or on Facebook.

4.Keep the conversations alive. Continue planning the meet ups, trivia nights, magazine etc. Feed the bloggers. Feed yourselves. Root for India at the ODIs. And RCB players at Ranji. (Manish Pandey's doing a great job). Take care. Enjoy the weekend. Bye.< /end-of-overly-dramatic-post>

@Nidhi

There is a lot of RCB talk outside the RCB site too! Maybe if you can devote some space on this site to such "RCB Made Foreign Content", you will have found a way to enrich this site without diverting them away from their natural habitat.

Not easy to track everything that everyone is saying everywhere - but known FFs can be tracked! And some unknown FFs may chip in with a 'why are you not mentioning me?' poser. So the community grows wider and deeper.

Just a thought for you to consider, within your resource limitations.

Thanks Jackky! The hotel I stayed at was actually a 2 minute walk from the temple, it's gorgeous. Didn't get to see Chittorgarh because we didn't have enough time, but Kumbalgarh fort was stunning and oh-so-peaceful!

We drove by Dungarpur, nice place.

Udaipur food = awesome. Wish I was there longer just to try out all the places people recommended!!

Hi Nidhi,

I have traveled almost all the places of Rajasthan, Gujarat, MP. .

If you are visiting Udaipur -one of my favourite places, it is a city of beautiful lakes.

Visit Jagdish Temple which is very famous and Chittorgarh Fort around 50 kms away from Udaipur.

You can visit Dungarpur (birth place of Late Rajsingh Dungarpur former BCCI Secretary).

You can have very popular and tasty Kochoris at North Pole (Udaipur) and lots of other stuff as well..........

People say that Hyderabad Biryani is popular in India but i felt Udaipur's Biryani at par with the Hyd's Biryani..........................

Enjoy and have a Great Weekend !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
