Genius Sachin: Compares Website to a Match!!!!!
Sachinbengaluru, IDEA CHAMPION of the Design & Engagement section had by far the most comprehensive amazing entry. 6,000 words of well thought out, well planned genius. I'm copy and pasting one page here, where he provides commentary of a match where the RCB WEBSITE is playing. Pure genius. Enjoy.
(P.S. Formatting changed as I converted this to HTML, download his presentation at the Fan Summit page for the original, ahem, 20 page doc).
Final Over
Imagine a tense last over played between RCB website and Other Websites (this section is just for fun),
Situation - RCB Website Needs 20 runs to win of the last Over
1st Ball – Contests Page hits a nice cover drive, 3 runs taken. (Should be fast enough to formulate rules, announce timelines, get the results out ..)
2nd Ball – Home Page takes strike. Bowler runs up bowls a full pitch length bowl which is hit out of the stadium (Home Page takes major load so it should hit a six for the site to become hit)
3rd Ball – Oh good delievery, Home page plays it really well and steals a single (Home page should handle lot of load and connect to all the pages correctly)
Need 10 runs from 3 Balls (Rules change - Contest Page is replaced by Team page and Home page is replaced by News Page)
4th Ball – Team Page on strike, bowler bowls a shoulder length no ball and team page chips the ball away for a single (Team Page must chip away with nice information during
the IPL season yet provide differentiated content in the off season)
4th Ball (Extra Ball) – Bowler bowls a low full toss which is deposited outside the stadium by the elegant News Page (News Page should show latest information with a good abstract, news is heart of the home page and no wonder it replicated the Heroics of the home page).
Need 2 of 2 balls (News Page is replaced by Fan Page),
5th Ball – Fan Page places a delightful pull to take RCB website to a great victory (Fans are a ‘Gift’ to this website, it is the fans who will help this website become the
best website in the world).

RCB Website : Fan page really made sure we were in the hunt, great catching, run outs helped us restrict them to a lesser score.

RCB Website : We are looking to improve User Engagement, add compelling designs, Website Compatibility etc. that will help us win more matches in the future. We also want to conduct Usability Studies, Brainstorming to get to know new ideas from our users. We have already started that process by inviting people to give new ideas via ‘Fan Summit 2010’
