Speaking of Katrina Kaif - suggestions plz!

Received the best email today, about Katrina Kaif. How would we like to see her active with the fan club and www.RoyalChallengers.com.

Considering so many of you have been mentioning the RCB Brand Ambassador in your comments these last few days, I figured I'd pass the question on. (Aren't I awesome!)

image

So, fanatic fans, and I'm talking to ALL of you. In future competitions and over the next months, how should we get Katrina herself more active in the fan club??

- Live chats
- Surprise (or planned) visits at meet ups
- The best handshake competition?
- "Fan of the Series" wins a date with Katrina?

Be creative, be wildly creative. We're brainstorming here, so the sky's the limit!

P.S. I WILL DELETE OVERTLY INAPPROPRIATE COMMENTS.

@Draidus, let alone a chief, we have a whole staff of critics!! :)
nidhi@RCB on 21 Oct 2009, 10:52 AM
didn't know where to post! defaulted to this page...btw, there is a chief blogger, fan and a photographer...shouldn't there be a chief critic (like me)? hehe ;)
draidus on 21 Oct 2009, 02:15 AM
@Nidhi

For the moment, let's assume RCB will be out of semis :(

Let's also assume that "all fans who signed up" are invited to "An Evening To Remember" event in which Kats, Dr Mallya, Kumble&Co; are present.

Am sure it will bring a smile to all the "True RCB Fans"!! :) Right?? That's a smile that will stay n our minds for a long time :)

Wonder if other teams have anything similar to offer their fans!!!!!

You need to create what you want in your mind!! That's he first stp to making it happen!!!

If you want ideas to bury your disappointments, dial "Ask Me"!

:)

Cheers

@raghu-nath: you;re indeed a true rcb fan; way to go bro...

@dradius

Thanks for bringing me back to my favorite page on this site ::))

My mind is soaked in the thought that Kats is a "True RCB Fan" ... I'm not gonna let anything and anyone take away that feeling! Till she tells me directly otherwise!!

RCB is a very colorful cricket community - which you can make out here, compared to all other team websites. How much Kats adds to this color is something to be left to the imagination of each of us!!

Nice to feel that I can imagine better than most others ;-)

Cheers

@draidus good suggestions, we've sent them to RCB management, let's see what happens :)

i like the idea of RCB day, we've been toying with it, let's see where we can take it after CLT20
nidhi@RCB on 13 Oct 2009, 01:40 PM
@raghu-nath: ..." hired for the job’ models sitting in the pavilion would not know when to laugh and when to cry when a realty show is going on in the middle!"

You do realize that KK is an actress and they could pretty much spit out any kinda emotions when the camera is rolling ;) hehe...when it comes to actors...YOU NEVER KNOW ;)...

good win today...love it...
draidus on 13 Oct 2009, 11:38 AM
@dradius Many great suggestions. Hope they will consider seriously.

However I don't see it as "business model ...KK being hired for the job" regardless of the commercials involved.

I would love to imagine Kats as being a "True RCB Fan". She looks delighted when RCB is going strong and disturbed when the chips are down for RCB ... 'hired for the job' models sitting in the pavilion would not know when to laugh and when to cry when a realty show is going on in the middle!

Hey Nidhi,

Your suggestions themselves are pretty cool. Interestingly enough, I had to spend some real brain cycles to think this one out. KK became the BA of RCB so the popularity of the club increases. Indians dig KK and if you ask me she is not HOT by international standards. She definitely has the indian-ness in her and could attract some serious crowds in the country.

People love competitions and involving her in any such events along with some interesting prizes should get the fan base expand. More than the chief bloggers, she should start tweeting, blogging & even facebook-ing for RCB and that would really ignite peoples interest in the club.

I'm sure Mr. Vijay Mallya saw a business model around hiring KK for the job. RCB should have "RCB DAY" (twice a year maybe) when all the players participate, they should all be dispersed to all corners of the city in merchandise stores letting fans know to "go to a store and meet their star" keeping the details anonymous as to who goes where...and then a big stage show by Katrina at the Stadium in the evening.

You should have a way to keep fans on the edge all the time, announcing "Fan of the day", "Fan of the week", "Fan of the month." People get excited just by seeing their picture online on the front page. Being on myself, I would love to be nominated as either...and making KK make that announcement would be the cherry on the top...you know like a small video snippet form KK announcing the "Fan of the ..."

All the registration emails, notifications, posts should be, like they are personally from KK. That should make fans feel important and proud ;)

Giving away free tickets to the game and signed merchandise form her should attract crowd etc...

Kinda, tired for the day...out of creative juice for today...good job keeping the club alive!

why not put together a quick Fantasy prediction game? team score, top scorer, top bowler etc. the winner for each match can get team autographed KF branded cricket stuff (bat or ball or cap or Tshirt etc) courtesy Mr Mallya and with Kat's picture too.
For the time being, pls have Kat to sign up here and chat with all her fans.

Wow twonnets and all! I guess now is a good time to announce that the Mischief Girls are BACK for Champions League!
nidhi@RCB on 07 Oct 2009, 06:28 PM
I would love to mee you but there should be no one saying CUT in the background. Katrina - I like her,I also like steven seagal a lot and i would love to meet many a people in person !
Joan on 07 Oct 2009, 02:22 PM
@Pracidd we are having fun! Come join the party!! forget about those who registered and won't log in!! they'll come back during match time. We are rehearsing!! You want a free ticket for tomorrow's match?...JK!

I've overshot my lunchtime ...bye!
Raghunath on 07 Oct 2009, 02:20 PM
@Joan Going by your "yearning" to meet Kats, you've put me into deep confusion whether you are male or female! Did a quick Google check and it does say Joan of Arc is female. Or was it a typo when u said 'I would like to meet Katrina in person' ? Want to meet me? LOL
@prasad - ask for a voice profile and do a voice chat ;-)
@Kunal Poetry is very easy - just decide what words to use and place them together; you may have to do 3-4 small iterations to get it right. Have let the cat out of the bag, at the risk of losing my BIG moment with Kats! In my case, last night I went to sleep with the question 'what shall I write about Kats tomorrow' in my mind; no dreams, no lost sleep!

When I went near the laptop today, something in me said Eureka! Eureka!! And 15 minutes effort for hopefully, 15 seconds with Kats!!

Unless a Tarzan steps in from nowhere (like in movies!) and comes up with his own collections from Saving Jane and spoils my claim to glory!
Raghunath on 07 Oct 2009, 02:15 PM
waste of time, only promises no action. most of the fans here registered just to vote for the friends and relatives, i dont think more then 50% of the registered fans will login again.
Pracidd on 07 Oct 2009, 02:15 PM
Ya nidhi u r awesome!! what a great plan.. why didn i get something like this during the competition..
Trust me if we r organizing something like this then we r definitely goin to have a RCB server jam… i guess after this is officially announced a whooping 50k ppl wil be joinin RCB website in a single day to jus have a chat with Katrina… katrina doesnt hav to do much thn jus being online in RCB website for about an hour will do..
imagine a whoopin 50k ppl registering in a single day.. we r already leading in popularity compared to other IPL teams website n this is goin to vanish all other websites in front of RC.com..
plans u hav are jus wonderful, a must if we r goin to make this…. i hav some additional plans wit me too..
1. We also do want lotz female fans rite.. how about a photography contest in which the winning lady’s goin to be crowned ‘MISS RCB’ by katrina..??
2. How about a public chat box where ppl hav to update scores while match’s goin on or nything similar.. n some best gettin the RCB team fan tshirt signed by players or katrina??
3. This ones even better.. How about opening a RCB merchandise stall in stadium wherein all ppl buying something can hav it autographed personally by katrina kaif/players in a autograph secession?
btw this ones also goin to sell lots of RCB merchandises n RCB will be the first team to do something like this
and so on.. still have lots of them. ooh here another…
4. How about lucky dips of match tickets. n the person with the winning no. gets to hav a hand shake with katrina kaif/players?
enough as if now..
plz inform me if u like sum of em.. wil be posting many ideas tomorrow here.. till then toodles.. :)
pradeep-bhat1 on 07 Oct 2009, 02:00 PM
i would like to meet katrina in person !
Joan on 07 Oct 2009, 01:30 PM
So you can agree with me privately ( I cannot agree with you publicly! )
So you are a shy person with someone saying ‘Cut’ in the background!
So you want to imagine to get a higher kick than the world of reality!
Well well, i have a ode for you" Shy Raghu set out to imagine- A bold Katrina in his arms, but his wife shouted cut and bought Rahu tumbling down from the wall (lol)
Joan on 07 Oct 2009, 01:27 PM
Joan, I cannot agree with you publicly! My wife is also reading these posts!!

But the ground reality is "I am a shy person, and 'Lights, Camera, is all not for me' - esp with wife saying 'Cut' in the background!

But surely nice to imagine - the world of imagination looks more real and gives us a higher kick than the world of reality!
Raghunath on 07 Oct 2009, 01:16 PM
Raghu if you recieve a kiss from Katrina you might not feel the earth forget the wife !
Joan on 07 Oct 2009, 01:01 PM
@Nidhi I am surely game for a contest, though I feel fans have to stick to 140 characters (Sonnet=14 lines, Twonnet=140 characters!). The process I would suggest is:
1. Set a cut-off time for contributions
2. Set up a jury to shortlist
3. Jury determines the winner (no online voting by Fans or Jury)

@moderator Thanks for the compliment. Wonder if you meant something more ??? :)))

Breaking News: My sweet wifey sent me to Zero Gravity by letting me accept a hug or kiss from Katrina!! On the condition that she gets to do the same to Kumble or Dravid or both!!! That's whent the free fall started Dunno :) or :(
Raghunath on 07 Oct 2009, 12:52 PM
@Nidhi.Does Katrina have a profile here?????? if not can you please ask her to get a profile here.. we would love chatting with her... she would be happy to see so many comments on the topic that too on a cricket we site.
prasad-prabhu on 07 Oct 2009, 12:42 PM
Katrina ode:
RCB has to bee, what katrina is for me, She is the best, RCB has the taste, I love Kats looks, Rcb in cricket will win all books, I am kats biggest fan, Rcb i have joined your lovely train.
Joan on 07 Oct 2009, 12:25 PM
Still No momento, Still no call…..am sad, am sad, am sad, am sad….
Jumbojammy on 07 Oct 2009, 12:11 PM
Regarding an ode: here are few:
1.
Hey katrina, shimmering, sexy world queen of india,we adore to see you on the screen, seeing your picture sends us in spasms filled with joy, you are adorable and you are a picture to see.We adore you Katrina, you are our queen.
2.From my bro:
Hey Kat, you with a Royal challenge in my hand, will make my world and i will feel like a Prince, just to see you in the movies makes me weak in my knees, just imagine you and me together ! I would be shattered beyond imagination into a Joyful world i have never seen.
Joan on 07 Oct 2009, 11:59 AM
@ nidhi, no great news for rest of the 24 finalists. Is it curtains? or at least bangalore finalists stand any chance with RCB matches? @sandip he said volunteers, meet ups etc., nothing happening and match is tomorrow.
Shhhh on 07 Oct 2009, 11:55 AM
I would sure like a Cricket ball signed from her !
Joan on 07 Oct 2009, 11:50 AM
@Everyone awesome suggestions guys!! Keep 'em coming! The more successful this online fan club is, the more we'll be able to ask for things (cough Dravid) (hopefully). Which means we need to show that this fan club deserves all the fun stuff we can get!

@Raghu how about - contest to see who can come up with the best 140 character ode Katrina&RCB;. Winner gets an RCB jersey with the poem on it & it's signed by Katrina :P
nidhi@RCB on 07 Oct 2009, 11:48 AM
@ Nidhi- "on the other hand, we did just get to meet Anil Kumble" Yeah i know...glad about it. Still haven't got over the rendezvous ;)
And like Kunal said how about a meet up with Dravid??
disha-shetty on 07 Oct 2009, 11:39 AM
Right poetry is fun, but i'm not good with words, so I don't support it! I like Pradeep's idea of crowning Miss RCB, will bring in a lot of girls into the fan club, and we guys will like it :P
Will participate in anything and everything to meet Katrina..
Missed meeting Rahul on the audition, a photograph with him would have made for a perfect day! Contests to meet him?

Thanks Nidhi for inducing me to come out of my "planned 2 day hibernation". Kat's irresistible! You rock!

I've seen nearly all kinds of emotions being expressed on this site. The only thing I see missing is 'serious poetry in the fans expressing their love for Katrina. As everyone can see here, just the mention of Katrina made more people participating in less than an hour yesterday than the whole week on other topics.

Here's my challenge:

Express your love for Katrina (max limit=140 characters, Twitter limit). If you are not shy (like me?), you can post it here, else send it on Twitter to Nidhi (@RCBFFChallenge).

Let me set the ball rolling:

-------------------------------------
@Katrina

came here 2 watch
RCB play a match
Long legs short cover & slip
Eyes go4 a sweep
hart misses a beep
4u take my catch
⌣ 'U R my match'
------------------------------------

For the moment, I declare myself as the winner. Until someone comes up with something better!

The prize for me? I am too shy for hugs and kisses; so I will settle for a chance to look deep into her almond eyes, smile and a good, firm handshake :)

Wot says the fans and tweeps here?

Cheers

Raghu

There is no better way to get more ppl support RCB than to get Katrina onboard actively...For starters if she could be invited to some meet us all fans it would be great.. Then may be some competition which will add value to RCB website in the whole can be conducted and the winner to catch a RCB game with Katrina.. wat say ppl :)

RAINER on 06 Oct 2009, 09:35 PM
Wow.. what a topic to discuss... super.... i liked the idea posted by RoyalPhantom . every one has to earn their talk or date with katrina. but i think we all wanna meet Katrina . so we should invite all RCB Fans and let katrina interact with all of us. and one lucky dude(include girls if they are interested too....) must get a chance to go out on a date or get to watch a RCB match with Katrina Kaif...
prasad-prabhu on 06 Oct 2009, 08:04 PM
1. KK signs the best poster of the match. That should be reason enough for fans to come up with creative posters.

2. Another way of rewarding a fan. Let's say a fan named Genda Lal is selected based on his craziness/luck. Katrina can show-off a Poster in the next match on the lines of "I think Genda Lal is cute". Genda Lal would want to carry that video in his next life as well.
RoyalPhantom on 06 Oct 2009, 06:59 PM
The lucky fan should get a free ticket to watch the next game with Kats in one of those expensive stands.
