Story behind the new jersey
The IPL 2011 starts today and the RCB team is all set to challenge their opponents. RCB is prepared to go that extra mile this year. So while we have a new team and a new skipper, we also have a surprise for RCB fans - The new RCB Jersey has been unveiled and many will be anxious to know the rationale behind changing the jersey.
Major Changes:
1. Infusion of Blue as a additional colour in the design
2. Change in position of logos of sponsors
The Inspiration:
The objective was to preserve the core of the team's identity through Red and Gold, while infusing a youthful spirit into the design by using blue as an added element. The design epitomizes the essence of the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s spirit - sharp, youthful and dynamic.It's a balance of expression between power, youth and sports. The angular bands on the jersey depict a bold stance with a sense of dynamism. The gold element brings together a strong confluence of vibrant red with deep blue. The design uses the fluidity of fabric in motion to enhance its appearance in play.
Rationale for the change:
The new design has been planned with a clear motive of projecting a young, energetic and explosive team that is constantly challenging benchmarks.
The colour Blue symbolizes depth and stability and in combination with red and gold, creates a high-impact, vibrant design that oozes confidence.
Furthermore, the team has always tried to appeal everybody with a motto to thrill the entire nation with its performance, which has resulted in a significant rise in its fan following across India and even outside.
