The Big(ger) Picture

It has been a day of mixed emotions, to say the least.. On the last count, Nidhi's blog-post had logged 70+ comments

On one hand I am relieved that Phase - I is over, and we have 27 candidates shortlisted for the final round. On the other, I am worried, that we are unable to share the far greater sense of excitement about what lies ahead. Maybe, this is the opportune moment to share the big picture with you.

Royal Challengers Bangalore is looking forward to staying engaged with you, Fans - throughout the year. Yes, it is an undeniable fact, that come Champions League, we will only be able to send 3 fans along with the team, but this is not the only activity we have planned for you. Sorry to spoil your magic moment (@Nidhi), but I think it is time to share some more. We have a calendar full of stuff coming your way dear Fans, between Champions league and IPL3 - so please hold on to your seats and do not feel disappointed.

We have planned meetups, matches, club nights, online contests that can make your friends (fans of other less fortunate teams) drool like it is nobody's business. We have positions open online for community work. We also seek volunteers offline.
So please, please, please do not get overly upset about the fact that you did not make it to the TOP 27, this time. No system of judging can be fool proof, and if you were to share the hot seat with us, trust me you would have faced the same predicament.

Sure we made mistakes - sure we could have done better. It is my sincere belief that with your help, we can do better next time. We need your ideas - we need your help!

We are here to listen to you and help shape this together. Just send me a note that you wish to volunteer. Here is a poster which sums it all up, I guess.

hi Sandip Sir,
I was really very much keen to make in to the top 27..But i couldn't ..Newez i do understand that it's a part and parcel of life and we cannot always win as out of 100% ,1% is always held by luck...But i am sure that next time if anything happens i will surely gonna make it..Till that time i want to be in a constant touch with RCB and am always ready to help RCB in any context whenever it needs me either as a fan or in any respect...If anything is there for me to contribute as of now do lemme know,,At last thanx sir for keeping responding to us by giving us a sigh of relief that still we will be remembered by RCB .

Hello Sandip,

That was a really nice post. I can see you are being really frank there in stating that if you reversed roles even the contestants would have had a tough time choosing the best of the lot. I would say "hats-off" to you all for having closed phase 1 of this contest. Am sure all the fans out here are firstly fans and then competitors. Its all in the game and we should take it in the right spirit and move ahead as one single force that make way for RCB's victory !

I'm one of those fans who has made it to the final 27. But am i going to make it as the final 1? Time will tell. Be selected as the top fan or not, I'm going to continue offering a helping hand in taking the fan loyalty forward. Sandip, unlike you guys, I have been seeing a lot of support to me on IM to knock out fellow contestants :D What it tells us is that there are more other passionate fans out there! I want to be a part of the team, more because I want to live the dream of doing something with Cricket. Let me know if i can be of any help, managing this community or thronging the stands donning the RCB colours!

I had not applied for any of the fanatic fans' positions during the challenge and had been just a witness to the enigmatic fight which was going on for the top spot. I know in no way can i understand the pain of the unqualified ones and also to an extent, can't revel in the joy of the qualified lot, but i can be part of the volunteer programme and echo with everyone a victory cheer for our team. Sandip, do reach out to me if you're in need of a passionate fan. :)

Thats the spirit Sahil. We need to keep moving and put our hands up for RCB. You lose some but gain some too. Keep up the passion and let's have the red wave going. See this video and you should be back on track :-) Game for more?

@Sahil - Thanks for offering to help. The people with real passion will stick around - and I know that you are one of them.
I will reach out to you prior to start of Champions League.

Yes Sir, there were mistakes (and sadly avoidable ones) and it could have been way better. I sincerely thought voting system was absolutely farcical and should have been done away with. You do have something for future alright, but what has been lost was a golden moment, which only i had dreamed of. I am still unable to recollect myself fully and the whole procedure has disappointed me very badly. I hope people with genuine passion are given their chances. Anyway, i am thoroughly disappointed and way too low after this. Finally, i would still like to raise my hand for any useful positions and volunteer myself for the team cause.Let me know what all is available for me to contribute.
