The Vijay Hazare Trophy, commonly known as the Ranji 1 dayers, have begun today, 20th Feb, 2012. It is the 50 overs ODI matches played between 5 zones: East, West, North, South and Central.
In all, there are 27 teams split as below:

The Trophy was started in 2002-03. Tamil nadu has won it 4 times, Mumbai has won it 2 times and Jhakhand has won it once.

Mohammed Kaif was highest scorer with 56 runs hitting 3 FOURS and 1 SIX for his team UP in Hazare Trophy today. His team UP won vs Railways!
Harshal Patel took 2 wickets for his Team Haryana against Punjab.
3 RCB players are playing for Karnataka vs Goa today:
Karun Nair scored 15 runs of 37 balls hitting 2 FOURS.
Abhimanyu Mithun bowled excellent spell of 6 overs with 1 maiden giving away 21 runs and bagged 2 wickets with economy of 3.50.
KP Appanna too bowled 3 overs givng away only 11 runs and getting 1 wicket with economy of 3.66.
CM Gautam picked 3 catches as the wicket-keeper for his team.
Team Goa scored only 54 runs in 20.3 overs and Team Karnataka won in just 12.3 overs scoring 55-2.

Mohammed Kaif against remains the highest scorer for his team UP with 38 runs from 73 balls hitting 2 FOURS and 1 SIX. His team lost though, against MP.
Abhimanyu Mithun again bags 2 wickets. But that's not all; he scored 34 runs from just 20 balls hitting 4 FOURS and 2 SIXES. All-rounder in making, eh?
KP Appanna also bagged 1 wicket while
CM Gautam assisted a stump-out and a catch.
