Virat Kohli smashes a TON!
Our superstar, Virat Kohli made comfortable 132 runs from 171 balls which included 18 FOURS and 2 SIXES in a 3-day practice match at Canberra against CA Chairman, Australia. Team India had won the toss and decided to bat first. With a very slow start from the openers, India was 52-2 when Virat came in to bat. Starting steady, Virat Kohli maintained SR of 77.19 as he scored a 55* at stumps on day 1 with good support from RG Sharma who came in at 3 down and scored 47 runs.
On day 2, Virat Kohli looked composed and went on to score a TON. This knock of 132 runs was very important for India as the next highest score for India was only 47 runs by RG Sharma and the last 5 wickets could add only 24 runs together. India was ALL OUT 269. JM Holland, of CA Chairman, did remarkable bowling and bagged 6 wickets; which included wickets of Virat Kohli, Zaheer Khan and Abhimanyu Mithun; and other 3 being MS Dhoni, R Ashwin and VVS Laxman.
Quick Stats: Virat Kohli has played only 4 international Tests so far. But he has scored a good 191 runs from 7 innings at SR of 42.35. This includes 2 50s, 1 DUCK and 0 100s. However, this knock of 132 runs will give him an upper advantage for no. 5 spot in the playing 11. In the contenders list is his friend, young and equally talented, RG Sharma who is yet to play international Test for India.

As India started to bowl, first wicket was bagged by A Mithun. He bowled the captain DA Warner for mere 2 runs and gave a superb start for team India.
Congratulations Virat and Mithun! Keep up the good work boys; You shall win! Cheers!
