Virat's advice during RCB practice sessions helped: Vijay Zol
RCB young gun Vijay Zol, who was recently announced as the skipper of the U-19 team, says the tips he received from the RCB seniors during the IPL practice sessions will come in handy when he leads the Indian junior side in Australia this month.
In his interview with The Indian Express (You can read the full story here) he said "During our training sessions, I made it a point to talk to as many senior players as possible. Of course I didn't know that I was going to be named captain then, but the things I learned from the seniors like (AB) De Villiers, Daniel Vettori and Virat Kohli are going to be very useful."
He says talking to Virat Kohli, who hit the limelight after leading the U-19 team to World Cup victory in 2008, was very beneficial. "Virat spoke to me about ways to motivate myself for games and also egg on my teammates. He also spoke to me about taking the right decisions at the right time and more importantly, backing the decisions that I take. He also told me to remember that since I have prior experience of U-19 international cricket, I need to put that to good use for my teammates and myself", he said.
Let’s wish Vijay Zol good luck for the tournament in Australia!
