Welcome back the 2 banned fans!
This post is an extension of: 2 Members banned from forums
Dear RCB community,
Do welcome back our 2 most vocal passionate fans!
That was quick! So what made you un-ban them??!
As we mentioned in the previous post, we had no intention of permanently banning the two fans. Our act of banning them was similar to calling a TIME OUT. Both have been in touch with us since the ban. Since most of you have figured out who the banned fans are, we'd like to explain what led to bringing them so that they can resume their part of the RCB family without any ill-feelings from anyone.
Holmes was banned for letting go of his cool. He's usually taunted on the site for being anti-Dravid - (a) he's not ANTI-DRAVID, he's CRITICAL of Dravid. There's a difference. Holmes is also taunted for having the CMs on his side. And he's usually taunted by groups not individuals. His "crime" - talking about unpopular facts and being critical. The reason he was banned - his defense took on a very ugly turn. He's agreed to keep his cool, but reserves his right to state his opinion in a more appropriate manner.
As a community, let's NOT target any individual repeatedly. The CMs too will be better about stopping "group attacks".
Maddy was banned for continually being over-passionate and for reacting to provocation. He is a hardcore Dravidian and has been repeatedly warned to refrain from letting his passion do the typing. The primary reason of banning him was to show that our warnings are not empty threats. He has agreed to control his emotions in public forums and act responsibly.
As a community, let's not aggravate passionate fans, and let's allow certain comments to slide. It's hard to contain emotions especially when it comes to cricket. So yes some comments may be a little over the top, but let's not hold grudges against comments made in heat.
Hope this post explains the banning & un-banning of the two fans. Feedback is welcome in the comments and via email to firstname.lastname@example.org
They, along with the fab members of the Fan Advisory Board, plot new schemes to engage with fans and trouble shoot their problems.
Feel free to write to them on email@example.com.
