Fanatic Fans Updates

What we're looking for in the Final 27

We've received a slew of Fanatic Fan applications in the last few days - we're up to over 2,800! Which means we have a lot of new prospectives who haven't had as much time to spend on campaigning. Don't worry, we understand.

Votes and testimonials are not the only thing we're looking for. We expect you to have at least some, but we'll be spending a lot of our time looking for quality applications. How do I define quality? Well, for starters, your application should stick out from the crowd. We should get the sense that yes, you will make a great Chief Blogger, Photographer or RCB Fan for the Royal Challengers. We should be able to see your passion, sincerity and creative spark. This is intentionally vague. You know yourself better, you know what makes you special. Tell us.

The shortlisting will be a hard process for us. We've seen tons of good applications (you can see them in the Fan Club/Featured Applications page), and we'll have to narrow them down to 9 prospectives for each category, giving us a grand total of 27 fans for the next leg of the RCB Fanatic Fans Challenge.

So the votes and references will certainly give you an extra push, but they won't come in handy unless you have a great application in the first place.

I hope this makes helps. Leave me a comment.

Hi Nidhi, the race for the top 9 in each category has just begun to heat up, with thousands clamouring for the Top Job. I just wanted to know whether the applications appearing in 'the featured applications' will be reviewed ?? Considering that we are open to edit them till 27th.

Thanks.

Hey Nidhi, Thanks a lot for the reply, I bet you cant get a better fan than me. So I am trying really hard to get on board, I am not the one who believes in getting fake votes to get to the top.

Please select me

hey mam, good morning!
ya u r absolutely right that voting is not all about. but the sincerity and ability must the top thing to become a RCB member, because its for a great team.
RKR on 23 Sep 2009, 10:18 AM
@Vikram the list of 'featured applications' is not the shortlist of 27 (we will narrow that down after the 27th). We feature applications as we read them. We have so many to go through - so don't stress if you aren't featured.

@ KunJan - You are so right and that is indeed the spirit.
Attempts to cast Fake Votes 'en masse' usually leave multiple trails behind.
Sandy on 23 Sep 2009, 08:47 AM
Guys, It's opne thing to create fake id's and vote, and it's the other to show passion for cricket. If you have it, it will show, and like nidhi said It will stand out!
The weightage for votes and references is only 50 pc, the rest depends on the quality of application. If someone has been giving oneself fake votes, RCB team will know (they have their own way of tracking). So do not worry, enjoy the moment!

Vote for me if you like.

Hey Nidhi,
As told by many votes are a good way but not exactly foolproof. So i hope our applications will also be studied carefully before selecting us. Because applications with over 100 votes have Kevin Peterson in their starting line up whereas he is injured till december. So i hope you guys will go through all applications.

Hey nidhi u r cute..
subin on 22 Sep 2009, 08:54 PM
yup i can understand that but getting votes to get a push is a very lame idea.. all one needs to do is create 100 fake ids and vote for self.. i am a participant of Ibibo ifashion photographer of this season too and am in top 30 contestents but if you go through all the top 30 then ull see that there are few photographers who probably dont even know how to hold a camera.. well yup agree its a pretty tricky situation but then again taking out some time on your part and going through the works by the prospective photograhers (some might not have even any works out there to show) from well in advance can make things easier..

Hi Nidhi,

Despite of having so many votes and having a decent write up about me, why I am not featuring in the shortlisted list?

Regards,
Vikram
