Charl Langeveldt is one of the best bowlers when it comes to bowling in limited overs cricket,
especially in T20 cricket where guile and control are such valuable currency. Perhaps his ability to
keep batsmen under a tight leash and in check comes from his previous job as a prison warden at
Drakenstein Prison near Cape Town.
An excellent death bowler, Langeveldt's main weapon combines his speed and his ability to
swing the ball sharply. Batsmen barely have time to spot the ball and it's away or uprooting their
stumps by the time they flail at it. He made his debut as early as 2001 but intense competition and
inconsistent selection policies meant he never could cement a spot in the South African national
side. Langeveldt even opted out of tours when he felt his selection was based more on CSA's
transformation policy than on his merit.
Langeveldt joined KKR for the first IPL but was largely reduced to warming the bench. He shone on
the few occasions he got to play but surprisingly couldn't hold a place due to muddled management.
Playing for RCB in 2011, Langeveldt managed just three games but was brilliant in them, reinforcing
his worth as a deadly bowler in the shortest format of the game.
RCB Highlights
RCB vs. KKR, Bangalore, 2011
Playing against his former IPL team, Langeveldt got the breakthrough with the wicket of his South
African compatriot, the dangerous Jacques Kallis early in the game. After rain reduced the game to a
13 overs a side affair, Yusuf Pathan came out with a mission to plunder but ran into Langeveldt. He
dismissed the dangerous big hitter and kept KKR down to a manageable total. Langeveldt's 2/10 off
3 overs was an exhibition of T20 bowling and helped RCB pick up a comfortable 4 wicket win.

He wasn't included in the final stages. That's one reason why RCB never wonb the title of "Defending Champions".Mithun could have been dropped and Kiaf could have played and in place of Pomers,Langaveldt could have done the damage.
include langeveldt and let mithun sit... in the place of dilshan bring mayank agarwal... guys believe me this combination will work out... rcb ll have the strongest batting and bowling...
This Guy is a Genius. I am sure he will atleast win two - three matches by his sheer bowling skills provided RCB should play him in all the matches depending on his availability & fitness.
