Iím glad RCB is giving us a chance to showcase our contributions to the site/club. Iíve tried to enlist my contribution to the best of my memory below:
1) I started podcasting for the site even before I won the Chief Podcasterís position for IPL. My first podcast was submitted on Feb 27th, 2010 (http://www.royalchallengers.com/chief-podcaster/my-first-podcast-for-the-royal-challengers)
2) In my following pre-IPL podcast, I interviewed a fellow RCB fan to talk abt our team and IPL (http://www.royalchallengers.com/chief-podcaster/the-rcb-podcast-episode-2)
3) The 3rd in my series of pre-IPL podcasts featured RCB contracted player and Karnataka Ranji wicket keeper-batsman C.M.Gautam. I recorded the interview in his house. (http://www.royalchallengers.com/chief-podcaster/my-3rd-episode-for-the-rcb-podcast)
4) As the Chief Podcaster for RCB during IPL, I interviewed players like Robin Uthappa, Virat Kohli, Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble, Vinay Kumar, Shane Warne, Coach Ray Jennings and Asst Coach Sanath Kumar, Trainer basu, Analyst Prasanna, actresses Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, Ramya and Jennifer Kotwal, RCB Director Sidhartha Mallya, former badminton great Prakash Padukone and fans who won the Mighty 14 contest in different cities. 5) Keeping in mind the local Bangalorean sentiment, I interviewed the following stars in our native language Kannada. This was extremely well received and the fans were especially thrilled to listen to Dravid and Kumble speak in Kannada:
Anil Kumble: http://www.royalchallengers.com/chief-podcaster/kumble-talks-in-kannada
Rahul Dravid: http://www.royalchallengers.com/chief-podcaster/dravid-speaks-in-english-and-kannada
Robin Uthappa: http://www.royalchallengers.com/chief-podcaster/namma-robin-uthappa
Vinay Kumar: http://www.royalchallengers.com/chief-podcaster/namma-huduga-vinay-kumar-in-kannada
Ramya: http://www.royalchallengers.com/chief-podcaster/ramya-speaks-from-dy-patil
Shivraj Kumar: http://www.royalchallengers.com/chief-podcaster/kannada-actor-shivrajkumar
6) Going beyond my role as a podcaster, I conducted quizzes on the website for fans not only during, but even after the IPL. Almost all the quizzes were done live, using an embedded chat room.
7) In addition to being the Chief Podcaster during IPL, I donned the role of Videographer as well, and contributed short and interesting video clips on the site:
8) Apart from conducting quizzes and shooting video clips, I also donned the role of MC/Anchor during IPL. I hosted the RCB Meet and Greet in Bangalore and Jaipur and the Katrina Meet and Greet in Nagpur and Jaipur.
Footage of the Bangalore event is on this link: http://www.royalchallengers.com/chief-podcaster/my-show-for-rcb
Pictures of the Jaipur Katrina event are on this link: http://www.royalchallengers.com/fan-club/katrina-kaif-/
9) After the IPL, I made an audio tribute to Anil Kumble, involving other fans on the site, and this was so well received that it even got home page publicity for quite some time. (http://www.royalchallengers.com/chief-podcaster/tribute-to-anil-kumble)
10) Launched the RCB Mix, an entertainment podcast on the lines of an FM Radio Show. It has been put on hold due to music royalty concerns. (http://www.royalchallengers.com/chief-podcaster/launching-the-rcb-mix-)
11) Organised a cricket match for RCB fans, but the event didnít kick off due to poor response. Nevertheless, this experience enabled me get commitments from teams for future matches. http://www.royalchallengers.com/chief-podcaster/cricket-match-for-rcb-fans
12) Organised a fans tournament at the Police Parade Grounds in Bangalore. The tournament had 5 teams participating and was won by a team that came all the way from a village beyond Attibele, which itself happens to be on the outer periphery of Bangalore.
13) Created a musical gift for team RCB by roping in a singer to sing songs for Kumble, Dravid and Robin. This was my entry for the Royal Send Off contest: http://www.royalchallengers.com/chief-podcaster/my-gift-for-rcb
Thanks for this opportunity,
