About Me

First meeting with the great game Took to the game by accident, was coerced to watch it while fighting over the TV remort with my elder brother bossing around and me conceeding each time. That coercion led to an addiction which liggers on till today. Different strokes of my personality! When dawning the cap of a batsman attacking, aggressive, exuding confidence…… but yet reliable. With the bowl in the hand fiery, extremely focused at uprooting the stumps, at all times . My mantra is strategizing to skittle the batsman out. And as a fielder bundle of energy on the field and off the field as well. That was just a dipstick into who I am? In cricketing parlance!!! Surprising but True Played bit of cricket for junior college at the district level …. Right arm bat and medium pace bowler I love being involved in the game and its my dream to be the first non-playing female cricket commentator in the country . I took part in DreamJob 2008 conducted by Espnstar and stood in the top 10 in the country. Qualification wise , I am an MBA who is working with PwC in the Entertainment & Media practice . Other than that I dabble with freelance audio cricket commentary for Tata indicom subscribers, cricket and sports shows at Radio must (community radio station) and freelance writing. I am the most fanatic RCB fan because...

I stand by the same philosophy as RCB as a team that looks at building a solid and dependable team by laying emphasis on strategy in every element of the game. And not to forget the I admire and look upto of the charisma, flamboyance, and aura of the team owner Dr Vijay Mallya.

Strategy Map for RCB - Airtel Champions League

My preferred line up :

1.Manish Pandey 2.Robin Uttapa 3.Jacques Kallis 4.Rahul Dravid 5. Virat kohli 6.Mark Boucher 7. Relof Van der Merwe 8.Praveen Kumar 9. Steyn 10 Anil Kumble 11Vinay Kumar

why do I prefer this line up :

They would be looking to get a fiery starts from Robin and Manish both capable of hitting the big shot . If wickets fall down early then Jacques and Dravid would play the role of mixing caution and aggression. For the late bursts u have hitters like kohli, boucher and Merwe, with Boucher being the ideal finisher of a game. The bowling line up also looks strong bowling line with 2 front line pacers one with pace (Steyn) and swing (kumar) medium fast pacer kallis , medium pacer(vinay) and a class spin of kumble and part time of slow left arm spin of merwe which would be beneficial on india wickets.

My opening match strategy:

As the opener against Cape Cobras is in Bangalore at home turf, RCB should have crowd support. Their strategy should to win the toss and bat first and look at a power score in the range of 180 . The pitch at chinaswamy stadium does slow down may not have much effect In a 40 over game but the spin of Anil Kumble and slow left arm spin of Relof Van der Merwe might be handy on the wicket. Ideally Manish and Robin should take advantage of the fielding restrictions in the first 6 over’s and score at a run rate 0f 10-12+. And then consolidate for late burst in the last 6-7 overs. Ateast 180 score is required as Bangalore as it is a batting wicket and the cape cobras have strokemakers in the form of Gareme Smith, Hercshelle Gibbs and Duminy. If RCB is chasing a big total and a early wicket falls down they should look at promoting Virat Kohli one down to keep the scoring rate up and if that also fails they would have dravid and kallis to steady the ship and rely on the likes of Mark Boucher and of Relof Van der Merwe to play the role of finishers.

My best T20 match:

Venue: SuperSport Park, Centurion Date: 21 May 2009 - day/night

RCB was on a high after 3 consecutive wins when they went face Deccan to decide their fate for a semi-final birth. Some inspired captaincy and emergence of a young lad from the shadows led to resounding RCB win and a semi final berth. Anil Kumble promoted the young Pandey to open in a pressure situation and he responded well with delightful 114 of 73 ballls which had 4 sixes in them that aided in RCB posting a good score of 170. Then a bold move from Kumble to open the innings to offer the bait to gilchrist and gibbs and the old wily fox did well with 2 wickets and just conceding 23 runs in his 4 over spell. The intensity manifested by RCB” the team” was magnificent to watch.
