I CAN BE RC'S CHIEF BlOGGER BECAUSE..
My claim to the title of Chief Blogger for RCB has been substantiated by the caption that invites us to apply for this role. It asked me if I am a wizard with words? Being Wizardprince, whose two of the biggest passions are cricket and creating magic with words, I don't even need to think of an answer to that. While growing up, I wanted to become an all-rounder and play for Team India. Javagal Srinath was my idol and I had even modeled my bowling action on him. In my local team, I always used to open the bowling and was known as 'left armed Srinath'. However, destiny had other plans for me and I couldn't be a part of the playing XI for India. At that time, I rued the fact, I felt disheartened, but, today I feel glad as destiny has given me another chance. It doesn't matter if I could not be a part of Indian team because I was destined to be a part of an Indian cricket team as their Chief Blogger. The two decades of devoutly following cricket have reached the fruition time and now I have the opportunity of finally being a part of a really great cricket team which among others, has my idols like Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid, Jacques Kallis and my current favorite Dale Steyn in its ranks. My claim for this role of Chief Blogger is not only backed by my writing skills, but, also by the fact that I have been associated with the game for long enough to understand it from a cricketer's as well as a spectator's point of view. A great cricket writer needs to have good cricket knowledge as well as good writing and linguistic skills. I have the writing style that will take cricket right into the monitors of my readers and make them feel their pulses throbbing, the way it would have been inside the stadium. I am an accomplished as well as a popular blogger with over 200 write ups on current affairs, cricket, religion, stories, poetry and humor etc. I am quite a handy lyricist and have written a special cheer song for RCB which I shall unveil only during the auditions. The way Dravid makes bowlers cry and Kumble does a 'batsmen fry', I can create the magic with words, just give me a try.
MY STRATEGY FOR ROYAL CHALLENGERS IN IPL 2010
The one strategical move that I would suggest is to play horses for the courses rather than sticking to the same unchanged combination. The team has some amazing and in form players and we need to plan the playing XI in a manner that will get the best out of the entire squad. We have to form different combinations, team composition (number of batsmen or bowlers) and field settings keeping in mind the venue and the opposition. I have gone through the IPL schedule of RCB and also have done a deep analysis of the other team combinations. Based on the performances of last two editions of IPL, I have devised my own gameplan for each match and I will share the details with the men who matter when I go to Bangaluru. The basic cricketing suggestions like, staying positive, bowling a wicket to wicket and off stump line, getting early wickets are always vital and everyone who knows a bit about cricket or plays it is aware of them. A strategy is a bigger gameplan encompassing all these finer aspects as well as taking into account other factors affecting the game. I have it all waiting to be shared by the men who are tasked with implementation of the same.
