Bhuvanesh is a right-arm medium-pacer who has a knack of extracting movement both ways with a new ball. His pace is not threatening, but he makes up for it with the movement. Barely two weeks after his 17th birthday, he made it to the UP senior side, after having spent two seasons with the Under-19 side. In his second season, he did well enough to regularly get the new ball ahead of either RP Singh or Praveen Kumar. His five-wicket haul in the 2008-09 final was a vindication of that trust. In his second first-class season, he also came through as an important lower middle-order batsman, making a jump from his usual tailender slot in junior sides.
