His uncanny ability to vary in flight, speed and length rather than turn, has made Daniel Vettori New Zealand's best left-arm spinner for over a decade across all formats of the game.
At 18, Vettori was New Zealand's youngest Test cricketer. Over the years, he became one of those rare players to complete a double of 300 Test wickets and 3000 runs. Some of his best bowling performances have come against Australia, most notably his career-best Test match figures of 12/149 at Eden Park in 2000 – where he rocked the Aussie batsmen with his drifting spells.
He has been an inspirational figure in the IPL, where he plied his trade for Royal Challengers Bangalore since 2011. Vettori's experience at the international level both as a player as well as captain will enhance the RCB dressing room for IPL 7. His familiarity with the franchise's dynamics will be an added advantage for the team.
