ICC World Twenty20: All eyes on Indian Women

ICC World Twenty20: All eyes on Indian Women

While the Men In Blue have already kick started their World T20 campaign with back-to-back wins, the Indian Women take on Sri Lanka in their opening game at Sylhet on Monday in the Women's World T20.

The experienced Mithali Raj will be leading the team, as India feature alongside West Indies and host nation Bangladesh in Group B. India have a history of poor performances in the previous World Cup editions, but that will not deter them from putting up a fight this time around. Mithali has been in good touch in the warm-up games, with scores of 42 and 53 against Ireland and New Zealand respectively. She will be aiming to carry her form into the main matches, with able support from her teammates.

In the bowling department, fast bowler Jhulan Goswami will be leading the pack with plenty of experience behind her. The veteran has also captained the team previously. India will depend on the pacer for her expert inputs.

Here's hoping the Indian Women make the most of their opportunity. Let's get the cup home!
