Six Cricket Crazy Women, One Question
What is it exactly about IPL that makes it so special?
We caught up with six of our lovely female cricket fans and posed a single, seemingly innocent question at them: “What do you love most about IPL?” We weren’t quite prepared for the passionate outbursts and declarations of love that followed…
I can’t start to describe how much I love IPL. It’s just so much fun! I had watched an IPL game at the stadium and the euphoria and madness out there just made me fall in love with IPL! It’s really unlike the more serious cricket matches – people are dancing and screaming as much as they are taking interest in the match. It’s the best combination of sporting talent and entertainment!
I love T20 games because the format is so exciting and vibrant! Because they are shorter than the traditional formats of cricket, they pack in much more energy and are just so much fun! IPL also consists of a mix of players from various teams – it’s really a treat to watch the world’s best play together. I’m sure IPL 2014 will be as exciting as ever!
The IPL is like looking forward to a festival for me! I guess I love cricket so much because it has all these lovely players and I’m not worried watching it like I am when I’m watching India It’s downright entertainment for a cricket fan like me. It’s healthy competition—or a chance to support more than one team and players according to their run in the IPL. It’s just crazy fun! I’ve always loved IPL and it looks like they customized an IPL to make me happier every day of the summer! The chance to watch international players up-close is the icing on the cake.
I absolutely love cricket and have been a huge fan of the sport for many years. This IPL I’m is waiting to see how some of the top teams perform without their stalwart leaders—and am keeping an eye out for fresh talent! I’m waiting to watch RCB's Yuvraj and Gayle whacking the opponent bowlers all over the field together. What a sight it would be!
Personally, I enjoy the IPL because that’s where you get to see all your favourite players from different countries playing together in the same teams. IPL really brings alive geographic loyalties as well – it’s so much fun to cheer for your favourite city! I’m waiting for IPL 2014 because having the matches played in new locations adds an interesting new dimension.
Where in the world will you get to witness 60 high velocity matches played across UAE, Bangladesh and India! Where in the world would you witness those booming sixes of the versatile Jamaican Chris Gayle - 175 not out! Where in the world will you witness marque cricketers from all over coming under one platform! IPL 2014 action commences on April 16 and I being a massive cricket buff will not want to miss it at any cost. I’m so excited to see RCB on field, steered by the iconic Virat Kohli!!
