Hey Fans, Remember how last week we sent 3 fans to the Romanov music festival. Well 6 people attended the show. 3 from Bangalore, 3 others went from Delhi. And here they are reporting to us about their experience. While Pradeep Bhat has shot some beautiful pics and put them together in a slide show, Sandeep actually managed to get some good excerpts from the event. You will find them both in the fanatic fans section. Sanketh Kumar shares his experience in form of a blogpost. Without much ado, here it is !!

________________________________________________________________________________

It was clearly evident at the end of it that the 2000-odd people, gathered at Romanov Red Rock ‘n India 2010 concert in Bangalore, were there to see the BACKSTREET BOYS. And boy! They were good. All the other bands, including Richard Marx, appeared to be just opening for the Backstreet Boys.

By the time we (Pradeep, Sandeep and I) managed to get past the annoying security check (meant only for Indians); Five Little Indians and Swarathma had wrapped up their performances. Not a big fan of Swarathma but their “Yesu Allah aur Krishna” song got me quite keen to see them performing. The closest I got to see them was when their lead singer Varun Dixit was walking about in the crowd :(

While the band Jayce Lewis was performing onstage, we set out to explore the stalls that were put up for us. We were quite delighted to see the RCB Fan Zone. They were selling RCB merchandise like jerseys, wristbands, etc. The best part of the Fan Zone was that they had a Nintendo Wii for the fans to play Wii Cricket. I managed to score 18 runs in 1 over smile

For all the adventure freaks, there was zorbing, rapling and many more activities. I am an adventure freak, so I was tempted to go zorbing. It had been a long time since I last went zorbing but I found it way too expensive here :(

They were only 3 food stalls – Kaati Zone, Pizza Corner and some chat stall. Soft drinks stalls were everywhere. Romanov Red had setup their own booze stall. Also there was a CCD stall with a funny but unoriginal banner.

After Jayce Lewis came Prime Circle, an upcoming South African band. They were quite decent. I liked quite a few of their numbers. “Hello”, “She always gets what she wants”, “Could you ever” are a few worth mentioning. Keep rocking Prime Circle. I am game for more.

Now for the first headliner - Richard Marx. Not many knew his songs and not many were there to see him. Ofcourse everybody did sing along with him when he sang “Right here waiting” but Richard Marx had to accept that the crowd was there just to see 4 Boys rock the night. I liked the way he enjoyed playing his guitar. He changed his guitar after every song and that was a bit annoying. But let’s move on.

Now Everybody…………yeah. Rock your body………..yeah. Cos Backstreet’s Back! Alright

The crowd just went crazy when BSB came on stage. The Boys started singing, girls in the crowd started screeching. But it was amazing. We could see everyone singing, screeching or shouting. I had stopped following BSB after their Never Gone album but once they started performing, I could recollect most of their songs and lyrics in a flash. The Boys were energetic, lively and danced wonderfully. The atmosphere was absolutely electric and I have exhausted all my adjectives here. To conclude, who cares if Backstreet Boys are not a rock band? Who cares if this is a rock concert? The crowd dint care and so dint I. Backstreet Boys, take a bow.

This is the most sportsman spirit I have seen in a contest ever! Mr.Praxtor has voted for each and every competitor in FFC2!

He actually went to every single profile of the hundreds that signed up and voted for everyone of them! Wonder if this is outta liking the talent on the application or is this Praxtor's strategy to getting votes?

Either way, it has helped him with his FFC2 application quite a bunch, because he is leading among the videographers which is his category.. This is encouragement for other participants to check out their competitors and comment on their apps instead of just spamming and voting for them.

Good Going Praxtor.. Your strategy was good.. Helped you climb the leader-board!

Something affecting a couple of us RCB fans - who to root for?

India? South Africa? Indian Royal Challengers? South African Royal Challengers? Both? All of them? The sport of cricket??

Sachin is on par of Dravid - they're beyond the teams they're part of, they're true legends. Yes, I'll admit a part of me wondered if RCBian Dale Steyn would get Sachin out at 199 in today's match (WHAT LIKE YOU DIDN'T THINK THAT), and the other part of me just kept thinking Dale boy, let Sachin do it, let 'im do it! Just like all of us were yelling at Dhoni to get out the way and LET SACHIN STRIKE THAT BALL. I mean think about it.

WHAT IF Dale did get Sachin out? Would South Africans cheer for him? Would they just look at him and think "really man? a cricket legend was about to score a DOUBLE ton just after beating the world record and you prevented that? don't you like the sport of cricket?! don't you want to see the standards (i.e. records) raised??"

I write this post in the wake of the last few days when we've seen a lot of discussion about rooting for teams over players as we saw some RCB fans vote for India and some for S.Africa in the last few matches (test and ODI). At the end of the day, the South Africans are playing for us anyway which means our team will be way stronger (didn't someone say Delhi Daredevils would put up a fight?) Haah.

What are your thoughts?

Disha Shetty is number one on the Chief Blogger's Application for FFC2. Check what her closest contender has written about her on her application

royal challengers

And of the 89 people voting for Aneesh Surendar,

royal challengers

one of them is Disha Shetty.

This is a perfect example of true sportsmanship! You guys have such amazing spirit, voting for one another and routing for your competitior to win! That is amazing! All this @ Club RCB smile
