@Holmes, RadioSandeep,SachinBengaluru- Appreciate the concern and the plan of action lined up along with Nidhi, Natasha’s contribution.
We could have (2 cities do have) city based ambassadors to cater to the on field activities like Meetups, media projects, publicising the fan club offline. The recently conducted meetup in Bombay did manage to create quite a buzz, in print media (TOI & Mid-day) and fan support-wise.
Likewise we could have IPL screenings (2D/3D) for RCB fans across cities during CLT20. These screenings could be taken care of by the city ambassadors, with the management & CM’s approval.
also spreading the buzz about the virtual fan club activities ( read on site), via word of mouth during meetups should help garner ‘real’ fans unlike ‘dummy ones’ as Sandeep quoted.
Regarding the fan quotient being an overkill for cricket purists, well Its an IPL franchisee website with just 2 tournaments being played during the year. (IPL & CLT20) But fans do blog about current Tests/ODI’s/ RC player performances and we do have daily updates and news from the RC Editor.
