In a scintillating display of top class hockey, the Indian Team this evening stunned arch rival Pakistanis by an aggressive strategy. Giving the World Cup campaign, a dream start, Indians thrashed the Pakistanis by 4-1 in what was a ruthless display and barring a consolation goal towards the dying minutes of the match, it was an exhibition of sheer domination and fine hockey by the Indians. Sandeep Singh top scored with two goals for India.

Congratulations to everyone and hope that the Indian team will continue playing in the same vein and win the world cup of Hockey. We need all the world cups now starting from this one.

it was so heartening to see such fast paced and aggressive hockey by india. if they play like this, a podium finish can be expected.
Wish Chandi played a bit better though… he was totally out of sorts today!

You are absolutely right and today they displayed the kind of hockey that is required to win a tournament of this stature. As far as Chandi is conerned, he has experience and I am sure he would bounce back and give a better performance next time.

I am one of those for whom a match against Pakistan is like the grand finale and a win against Pakistan is prize enough for me .

yeah honestly, i dont mind india losing all the upcoming matches… as far as i am concerned, we have won the world cup already

well, cant really call that bad luck. then, our indian forwards failing to get the deflections by a whisker, can also be called bad luck. failing to trap a ball and pass can also be bad luck . let’s have no sympathy on them please… we played better, we won!

@ RS - I agree that our politicians are presently more concerned about Pakistanis and their well being. Being somebody who has done a decent bit of defence writing, discussions with security experts, I can provide the logic behind such acts, but, it’s all about hockey here

I also voted for Congress as I foolishly believed that a stable majority government is going to be the key to success, but, they have floundered the advantage just the way a good fielder lets the ball go through his legs for a boundary.

Pakistanis deserved what they got and they got to keep getting defeated till the time they get the right mindset. If they think that playing against India is a war, then we Indians know how to conquer in battlefield.
