4 reasons why Vinay Kumar is worth $1 million dollars
After the Royal Challengers Bangalore team management successfully bid for Vinay Kumar, buying him for $1 million, there have been a few remarks questioning the worth of such an expensive bid.
1. Tight line and economy- Vinay kumar is one of the most economic bowlers in the IPL, despite his economy rate being 7.86. He bowls a tight life, only rarely offering width to batsmen.
2. Useful with the bat- Despite being a specialist bowler, RVK can be quite useful with the bat. He has scored 5 first class half centuries and has smashed 9 sixes and 15 fours in the IPL.
3.Team player- RVK is a team player who from his original Ranji Trophy days, put his team before himself. This can prove to be a very useful attribute in the shortest format of the game.
4. Iconic status- Vinay Kumar has always been synonymous with Bangalore and RCB. When he was bought by KTK last year, more than a thousand distraught fans stopped supporting RCB citing lack of local flavour in the team. Vinay Kumar is an ideal RCBian who has a typical rags-to-riches Bangalore story. He is an icon for several RCB fans, including me.
