A Brief Biography of Christopher Barnwell

This West Indian all rounder plays First Class and List A cricket for Guyana. He is well known for his clever bowling and pinch hitting in short over formats.

In his first season of domestic cricket, he excelled with both of his batting and bowling skills, with a five-wicket haul and half-centuries in the first-class and List A formats. While spinners formed the crux of Guyana’s attack in their victorious 2010 Caribbean T20 campaign, Barnwell was their most consistent seamer, impressing with his nagging lengths and clever changes of pace. His spell of 1 for 19 in four overs in the final proved crucial in swinging the momentum Guyana’s way after a wayward start. He also played in the one-off T20 match against India on June 4, 2011, in which he scored an unbeaten 34 off just 16 deliveries and also took his maiden T20I wicket. He was also picked for the 2-match T20I series in England in September later that year.
Barnwell is currently the captain of the Guyana cricket team.
