After pumping 90 odd in the last six overs who wouldn't have backed us to win. In fact our six over glory extended for another six overs into the Deccans batting who were struggling to get runs.
I almost though six was our lucky number today, but where's the sixth win? Against KKR, it will be either the sixth win or the sixth loss. Okay enough.
32/1 6.0 chasing 185! It was very disheartening to lose from there. Credit goes to the Chargers for putting up a real solid chase under pressure.
We got the team selection right I think. And Pandey+Kallis opening was good to see. Unfortunately Pandey din't click. And even more unfortunately we decided to put a double anchor! RD and Kallis did well in the powerplay - again 6 :) - but from there they almost did Kallis+KP of the Delhi fame. Uthappa and Ross tried too hard after that.
Fortunately Kallis din't have an untimely death this time and Kohli fired in! (wish he played in the caribbean) And we possibly had the most amazing last six overs ever!
So to say our batting was: (average start + magnificent end)/2 = above par
Bowling was pretty good too.. except for the final few overs. Maybe we could have tried White. Maybe Kohli. The partnership was killing us. It was risky but well woth to get that odd wicket. To be fair it would have been a very decision to make. And if it had not worked, we would have been singling it out right here :)
So tough luck! and well played Deccan.
Our case for the semis is getting tougher by the day. Add to that we have some really tough matches left to deal with. Rajasthan in their own fortress and table toppers Mumbai. Well no match is easy picking given every team is in contention now.
Nine wins is a sure semis spot. But it will need a 4/4 to get there! Eight will be a fair chance. And 7 is NRR and some luck!
