Chris Gayle in... what will that change for RCB?
The injured Dirk Nannes is replaced by Chris Gayle in RCB. Some what weird that a bowler is replaced by bastman. So what do RCB gain from this?
We got a explosive opener to replace the struggling Dilshan who can contribute with his offspin like him too. Time will tell how impactful he will be, because he struggled in Worldcup badly, not really technically sound against top quality swing n spin, but surely a killer of the 3rd 4th 5th bowlers (mostly medium pacers or avg spinners) in the opposition. If he can fire in the 1st six overs, RCB with Kohli, AB, Tiwary etc to come... can definatly go upto 160-180. He can set the RCB score rolling n give the momentum... So can RCB fortunes change n we get winning??
Possible. But still very difficult! Because the real problem lied in bowling more than the opening batting. Assuming Charl Langavelt, with his big reputation as T20 bowler lives upto it, then we have pressure creating bowlers in him n Vettori. Zaheer, consistantly being taken for runs in all matches is not proving to be a big asset yet. So Vettori, Charl, Zaheer being our top bowlers, can still go for about 80-90 runs in their 72 balls together if any 1 of them has a off day. And if among them, they not manage to get 3-4 wickets then the opposition can rip apart out poor 4th 5th bowlers for 80 runs or more in their 48 balls. So we either need top performance from out 3 bowlers or the 4th n 5th ones should bowl better to restrict oppositions from getting more than 160. If we dont improve, then the current bowling form will lead most teams to score 180 against us. Hope Gayle can help then in giving good starts to minimise the batting pressure.
P.S- how weird that a OFFICIAL site n groups of RCB does not have the latest updates about the team n i get to know it first through Times n Deccan Herald sites. the team lies without updating of players (have to go other places to know about people like Asad, Nuwan etc), poor managment of discussion forums, thats in crap mess.
Do appreciate the web videos, articles from the fan crew though
