De Villers and Smith Grants innings victory to the Proteas
The 2nd Test Match between South Africa and Pakistan got to witness a
massive batting partnership between the 2 legends of South African
cricket, Graeme Smith and Proteas RCBian AB De Villiers. When Steyn fell
at the score of 134 for 4 in South Africa's 1st innings in walked AB De Villers to give company to Captain Smith.
Smith played a sheet anchor role scoring double century making 234 with 16 boundaries and AB De Villiers batted a beauty and going on to make 164 runs in just 274 balls with 17 fours and 1 six. This SR was very good for a Test Match and AB De Villers played his natural game slogging when needed and helped Smith to take South Africa's score to 517 runs. Smith returned to form stroking the ball in all areas of the park and the ever confident AB De Villiers showed his class as the other batsmen in the team did not have to put in much effort.
The Test match also witnessed the Porteas bowlers bowling out Pakistan for just 99 runs with spinner Imran Tahir taking 5 for 32 and pacer Steyn finishing at 3 for 38 in the 1st innings. South Africa won the Test match by innings and 92 runs.
