Dilshan Scores his 13th, Sri Lanka win their First Test
After a comprehensive win in the ODI’s, Sri Lanka continue their good form in test as well, winning the first test match Against Pakistan at Galle. Lead the series 1-0.
Pakistan’s tour of Sri Lanka the first test match played in Galle with Sri Lanka winning the toss and opting to bat first in the batsmen friendly pitch, losing the Early wicket of Paranavitana, dilshan and Sangakkara added 124 for the second wicket and Rcb’ian Dilshan showed his class as he scored his 13th century in his test career. Dilshan hit 13 four’s and a six in his match winning knock of 101 in the first Innings. Sangakkara too remained unbeaten on 199 and he was so unlucky that he was not able to reach his double ton, with some support from both the Jayawardene, Sri Lanka put up a total of 472 in their first innings.Sri Lankans showed their class in their bowling as well, and Sri Lankan bowlers made sure that they did not leave pakistan batsmen to take the lead and the pressure was always on, with Randiv picking up four wickets for just 13 runs, Pakistan was in trouble and were all out for just 100 runs and this saw the home team picking up a massive first innings lead.
The second innings too saw our Rcb’ian Dilshan making a valuable and a quick half century before he was caught at crease by Junaid Khan, he scored 56 of just 58 balls at the strike rate of 96. Soon Sri lanka declared their second innings with a score of 137/5, the lead was a massive score of 509 runs and Pakistan needed 510 to win. Even in their second Innings Pakistan batsmen struggled to get runs and Sri Lankan bowlers were spot on in taking wickets in regular intervals that made the Pakistan batsmen feel the pressure and they were running out of partnerships as well. Younis Khan’s 87 and Asad Shafiq‘s 80 were the only highlight of Pakistan’s second innings as they were bundled for 300. Kumar Sangakkara was adjudged Man of the match for his brilliant 199 not out in the first Innings.
Sri Lanka lead the series 1-0 with more 2 test matches to go!
