Dominant RCB Storms into the finals
Royal Challengers Bangalore rode high on a truly deserving victory against the Mumbai Indians to storm into the finals. Gayle played superb knock and later on the bowlers put RCB on command.
Everyone expected an even contest in the MA Chidambaram stadium when the Royal Challengers Bangalore took on the Mumbai Indians in the 2nd Qualifying Final. Both the Captains preferred to field first as the toss went in Sachin Tendulkar's favor. Chris Gayle walked into the bat along with young Mayank Agarwal all were surprised to see A.N.Ahmed get the ball ahead of Malinga bowling to Chris Gayle. This is were the Mumbai Indians had lost half the match. Gayle did not think twice and he started attacking the youngster. He carted Ahmed for 27 runs in the very first over and from thereon it was Gayle all the way. Sachin tried different bowlers in almost every over and none were spared by Gayle. Even the spin of Bhajji and bowling of Malinga did not do good for Mumbai Indians in their first overs. Even Munaf was not spared at start.
RCB all the way:-
Young Mayank joined the party along with Gayle targeting Harbhajan and lofting him over the ropes and to the fence getting positive help from Gayle to which enabled him to perform well. Gayle thwarted all the bowlers and scored a big 89 runs scoring 9 Fours and 5 gigantic Sixes. He stayed on till the 15th over. He did not bother about his century and when he was on 89 he just stepped out to Patel but unfortunately for him he was caught in the boundary line by Franklin. Astonished by the catch he waled back to the pavilion knowing that he had won it for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Other batsmen didn't have to do much as Gayle had already made the match of it. Mayank played his role well scoring brisk 41(31) with 4 Fours and 2 Sixes showing everyone what he was capable of. AB De Villiers played the finishing touch having few overs to play and scored 21 runs of 15 balls with a neat six. Royal Challengers Bangalore had finished at 184 runs in 20 overs.
Mumbai Indians fails in the chase :-
Mumbai Indians started off the chase well with Blizzard attacking from the first over. Sachin too joined in the 2nd over but soon after that Aravind striked to remove Blizzard. Sachin was the only man in touch for the Mumbai Indians and was the danger man looking to take the game away. Other than Sachin none looked good enough as the Royal Challengers Bangalore bowlers kept putting pressure on the opponents. Wickets kept falling at the other end as Sachin kept playing his natural game. But soon later on Sachin too felt the pressure and young Syed decieved Sachin with his spin and got him stumped as the master departed scoring quick 40 runs in just 24 balls. As soon as Sachin fell none of the Mumbai Indians batsmen looked to go on as the RCB bowlers were bowling superb line and length. Vettori was at his best getting support from other ends. It was all but over for the Mumbai Indians and the Royal Challengers Bangalore stormed into the finals truly deserving the victory.
We Wish the Royal Challengers Bangalore all the very best taking on Chennai Super Kings in the finals to defeat them and win the title.
