Enjoy the carnival, RCB style!

Royal Challengers Bangalore are proven contenders with consistent success over the IPL seasons. We have finished ahead of most teams every IPL but haven’t managed to finish on top.

This season should see changes. A few fixes have been made to the strong RCB side, sprucing up the pace attack as well as the addition of an experienced spinner, Kartik Murali.

With batsmen like Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Tillakaratne Dilshan, the batting side is one of the strongest in the IPL. Their form too is sensational; Dilshan and de Villiers are scoring tons in practically every match while Gayle, Kohli and uncapped players like Vijay Zol and Mayank Agarwal have hundreds in their last series.

Best Batsman: Chris Gayle. He truly is the best T20 batsmen around. His performance last IPL as well as in the 2012 World Twenty20 Tournament have been commendable, and he is the backbone of the batting side. With one of his sixes sending a spectator to the hospital, another barrage of sixes can be expected again this season.

RCB has added a bunch of new bowlers in their kitty, namely RP Singh and Kartik Murali, strengthening their bowling side further. The young Karnataka players like Karun Nair, Mayank Agarwal have also had a good domestic season, giving a much needed boost to the RCB side.

Best Bowler: Muttiah Muralitharan. The 40 year old’s performance at the Big Bash League has shown that he is indeed one of the best spinners in the world, still turning the ball further than anyone else.

Most players in the side have had a successful cricket season, whether in domestic or international cricket. This was also the season where youngsters like Karun Nair, Mayank Agarwal and Vijay Zol were at the top of their form, leading their respective teams to wins in various tournaments at the domestic level.

The surprise factor: Vijay Zol. The youngster who plays for Maharashtra has proven himself in this domestic season. Having recently scored his maiden T20 century, if given a chance could be a surprise with the bat.

Team Prediction: WINNERS. Yes, with a super strong side, RCB will win this season.
