Everything else takes a backseat when it's IPL!
IPL fever catches on!
IPL 2010 has had a great start so far! Though, for the opening match the crowd attendance was only 70%, it was understandable because Navi Mumbai was not the home ground for any of the teams (Officially, Navi Mumbai is the home ground of the Deccan Chargers, but it doesn't make much sense).
The KKR v/s DC match was a very entertaining one, with DC in full control of the match after a good start given by Gilchrist, until the DC batsmen decided to throw it away. Some of the shots, like the ones played by Rohit Sharma and Andrew Symonds were atrocious to say the least.
The MI v/s RR match was more entertaining one, with Yusuf Pathan becoming only the second Indian to score a century in IPL after our very own wonder kid Manish Pandey. He virtually threatened to take the match away on his own strength with his 37 ball 100. Even though I was supporting MI for that match, I really felt sorry for the way he got out, and story would have been quite different, had he stayed till the end.But that's the fun in a T-20 match. Both MI and KKR have made a winning start to the tournament. It's been a trend of sort that teams at the bottom of the league previous year, going to top of the table next year. I hope this trend won't continue, because we were the finalists last year!
The IPL fever is slowly catching on. All the big movie have postponed their releases, so that they won't come in way of IPL.Tele soaps are expected to take a serious drubbing with their falling TRP during IPL.
On Sunday, RCB takes on KKR at Eden Gardens, and KKR will surely be on high after winning against the defending champions. But let's not forget if they have one champion in Ganguly, we have three in Jumbo, Dravid and Kallis!
