Fans Fun and Fanaticism

Fanaticism was the word reverberating around the KSCA pavillion end at Chinnaswamy Stadium on March 3rd and I must say I was privileged to be there. I kept tumbling and twisting in the bed the previous night as if I was back in college. Ask how ? I used to play for my college team in the top order and whenever we had a match the next day I never used to get sleep. Pre-match nervous energy well I wonder how the international players feel then smile. This time it was the thought of meeting Anil Kumble my hero.

The day started with meeting all my virtual friends before the contest began. The place was buzzing with nervous energies (may be at the same level as that of mine or may be more grin). The people around the place were all enthusiastic about the event, the day and RCB as a whole. All interactions with the finalists revealed how kicked and committed they were to go the distance. My friend Kunal told he had not informed at office that he was taking the day off . Shashank and Disha were ready to put their final semester projects aside. Raghu working his socks in preparation of this day. Well love was in air yeah Love for RCB grin

The events kicked off in right earnest and all the finalists ready to put the best foot forward. Bloggers headed to press box, podcasters to record their voices, photographers and videographers to the nets where Future challengers were sweating it out in front of the watchful eyes of coach Ray Jennings. I headed straight to the nets to get a glimpse of what future has in store for us at RCB.The young talent was put to stern test and given some advice by the coachy. In the meanwhile I spotted Anil Kumble and yeah I indeed had thought of something to speak to him. But when the moment arrived well all I could utter in my over-awed and starry self was Sir can i have a photo :-(

All the finalists then finished their tasks and were ready to take on the jury for the final plunge, date with the destiny. The Jury: Ray Jennings, Siddharth Mallaya, Anil Kumble and Sambit Bal put to test the skills, the passion and the commitment and picked out the Best on that given Day and as they mentioned all were winners there. Some rich by the positions and others richer by the experience.

As for me I had one of days to remember and as I told Raghunath my loyality towards this club stems from the place Bangalore and heroes Rahul Dravid and Anil Kumble and will remain forever.
