How IPL 2010 will be different for Club RCB?

The IPL is back in India. We finished as runners-up in the previous edition under the captaincy of Anil Kumble. The expectation level is naturally quite high this year. However, as every top team says, they don’t rely on their past performances, and take every game as a do or die game.
However, the team has gone through some transition over the past one year. Let me analyze how IPL 2010 would be different from IPL 2009.

A stable Captain: In the previous edition, RCB was constantly in news related to captaincy issues. This year, however, we have a stable captain in Anil Kumble, who never demands, but always commands respect of fellow members.

Local Talents exceeding expectations: Check this out: Top two bowlers in Wickets tally of premier domestic season of India, the highest run-getter in the same tournament, all belong to RCB!
I think Manish Pandey, this time, should get to play all the matches, and that too, he should open every time. I am happy over the confidence Anil Kumble and Javagal Srinath have shown in Abhimanyu Mithun. It would be exciting if he gets to share the new ball with Dale steyn. More than anything, it would be a great learning experience for him. But it would also mean that Praveen Kumar would not get the new ball. One option is to use Mithun the way Shoaib Malik used Umar Gul in T-20 world cup of 2007. It’s upon Jumbo to decide.
Vinay Kumar has not been able to repeat his domestic performances in the IPL. But there has never been a question on his commitment, and it can be seen from his body language that he always gives his 100%. I hope he really comes good in IPL-2010.
Even Virat Kohli has shown his class and is in prime form.We dont have to too long before to see him as a regular in the Indian team.

Dale Steyn: It’s a good news for Club RCB when he said that 145 kmph is the same, whether in Johannesburg or Nagpur. Even Dhoni admitted that it was one of the best display of seam and swing bowling he has seen.

Growing Fan Base: From 1000 to 30000, the online platform of Club RCB has grown with leaps and bounds. In addition to that, IPL 2010 is in India. So we can expect the crowd to be the 12th man for the team, at least in all the home matches.

Local Talent like Mithun , Vinay and Manish must be given a chance. Uthappa should be rested as he is underperforming. Also we need a Kannada Anthem for RCB

vinay kumar is a good bowler no dowt, but he lacks pace and hence he can get hit for runs in a t20 game so mithun would have to be preferred ahead of him. praveen has done well with the new ball in the past and i feel that he should be given the new ball this time too. maybe stey n pk could bowl short spells in the power-play overs to give way to mithun and kalis to come into the attack
