While in college, every time i got bored in class, i would take out my notebook and either start playing book-cricket or don the role of a selector and pick an Indian ODI and test side (no T20s then).
So now that i'm in the mood to go back to those days, here's my Indian team for the World Cup (based on current performances and form). Do let me know if you find the team good, or if you vehemently disagree :-)
i vouch for dravid again cos i dunno his wc stats shows enough of his calibre.....his avg of almost 60 in all wc's whoah ......i guess he should be given a chnce in the next series only ...but with the current selectors i.e srikanth and co i don't think they would include him hopefully someone puts some sense into em
@sandy:yes sandy it's pretty difficult and as i already said "if he performs in clt20 then he will have a chance and if not means we should leave this topic.
@Ragunath:Don't worry sir now i saw his application and i will look after that.
@maddy:why would you contact me in facebook about your durban experiance?....
Don't worry we are here about 25 fellows and we will help you:)
@radio:in odis too...he is way better than rohit and others.Badri plays amazing copy book style strokes.its a treat to watch Subramaniam Badrinath bat:)
@maddy: i agree with you, but robin is a bigger hitter. since the world cup is gonna be played in the sub continent, we would have flat, featherbed pitches. Robin's big hitting could prove handy..
Badri could be tried in tests after Laxman retires..
@raghu, dravia and maddy: i would love it if dravid comes back into the side. i'm a huge fan of dravid as well. but, looking at it practically, i think it's gonna be mighty difficult for him to make it for the reasons as below:
1) sachin, sehwag, gambhir, dhoni, raina and yuvraj pick themselves automatically. he'll have to fight with kohli and rohit for 7th batsman's spot. kohli and rohit have age and agility on their side. also, India may not field a 7 batsman line-up always.
2) the team management's strange love for Jadeja! he comes in as an all rounder and is even preferred over rohit and kohli!! that's very very sad!
@maddy: none of the 3 deserve it. badri can at best come in if someone gets injured..
ashwin can come in only after harbhajan, ojha, mishra and chawla.
balaji?? LMAO!!!
Now can you please help your twin brother, @maddydravid - the little boy is struggling to get votes for Discover Durban! First vote for him, and then tell your friends to vote for him!
Otherwise maddy will get mad at you and you will be the only guy doing all the labour for building The Temple of Dravid on this site!
hai hai hai and sorry for the late entry(net not worked for two days),hey sandy here i'm coming..
@all:Even if sachin was there in the final against srilanka the result would be the same. The reason is no standing partnership and it's not a close call between dravid and rohit because this guy ROHIT WILL PLAY LIKE A MASTER IN IPL FOR DC BUT IF IT COMES TO INDIA BOTH ROHIT AND OJHA WILL PERFORM LIKE A GULLY CRICKETER.
Dravid will play for the team and he deserves that no3 spot.
