India’s Squad for Asia Cup - Virat Kohli named as Vice-Captain
The Indian selectors met on 29-02-2012 to pick the team for Asia Cup.
Suspense was revealed as to who would be in and who would be out after seeing performances of a few players in the CommonWealth Bank Series.
MS Dhoni remained as captain and Virat Kohli was named as the vice-captain after consistent performances at the highest level and splendid performance at the CB Series in Australia.
Sachin Tendulkar remained in the team. Zaheer Khan,Virender Sehwag and Umesh Yadav were rested while allrounder Yusuf Pathan and fast bowler Ashok Dinda made comebacks.
India are the defending champions of the Asia Cup, which runs from March 11th to the 22nd and also features Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
