IPL 5 Journey so far and the tale of a RCB fan whose going to miss next 3 games ..
Its been topsy turvy so far for RCB, but this is how team has fared in last 3 seasons, going to make the top 4 later. Thats the very reason it feels bad that i will miss next 3 matches ...
RCB’s starts have always been familair but for the teams who think of us always think about the consistency the team brings to the table in the middle and later stages of the tournament. Remember this is a longer IPL and each team plays 16 games. A team winning 8 to 9 games can get throug, so we have lot more opportunities knocking at our door.
Fascinating that most of the bottom teams are doing well so far - Seeing Delhi team in action as we speak against MI, Never say die attitude of RR and consistent Pune Warriors, it just goes to show T20 is game of bravehearts and people who stand up and deliever on the given day. With every other match points table changes. Also there is a sense of closely contested IPL this time then the previous seasons so until we get into the fag end of the tournament no one is really guarnateed of a play off spot.
RCB needs indian players to contribute - In india its always that we talk of teams weaknesses when they lose few matches, nothing different here. As a fan we always believe in our team and being greatest fan club in IPL we should believe in our team, in there come back abilities. Strengths needs to be talked and as we go on our weaknesses will become our strengths. Indian Players need to stand up, all this 4 foreign players talk, vettori being replaced as captain, question marks on gayle should be set aside. Its about Kumar’s, Aravind’s, Tiwary’s. I also feel our batting after top 4 needs some more spark, getting Mc Donald in place of someone can bolster our batting line up.
Fans going gaga at the stadium - That was my first time experience of watching a match live. It was an amazing feeling, amount of red and gold was phenomenal, as was cheering, calling Murali as Muthu, getting ecstatic when virat came near to the crowd in A Stand, big cheer on big screen for Gayle (who was not playing the first game) and Great Anil Kumble. That sort of environment just makes you go to stadium and keep cheering. Also with coming matches of RCB away from home, we should urge many ardent RCB fans to go and watch the match live. Every cheer, every warmth passed will help the team get back on top ..
I am sad as i end up writing this blog, i will miss action live in next 3 matches, i will be away travelling, but will keep calling friends and fans and keep an eye on the scores. By the time i am back to writing next blog, i am sure we should have made more positive strides both in performaces as well as more support ..
RCB FAN,
Sachin Kodagali
