IPL 6 Team Analysis and Progress
This has been quite a entertaining season so far, seesaw battles and very very close matches. Lots to look forward to but lets unravel what has happened till now ..
IPL6 has been quite entertaining. Bowling and Fielding have taken precedence, low scoring matches and super overs have been the order of the tournament so far.
Big 4 Teams
Not underestimating other teams, its always been CSK, MI, RCB and DD who have been the more consistent of the teams in previous IPL’s. Start of the season has made us to believe that other teams are staking there claim to get into the elusive Qualifiers and a chance to get into the CLT20.
Well i always thought Pune and Kings XI dont have the consistency and it looks that way but who knows T20 is a funny game, they may surprise a few still (Like Pune did to CSK and KXI to KKR) and winning 8 or 9 games they may try to push the one of the Big 4 out of qualifiers. Long long way to go for them though ..
Sunrise Hyderabad (Deccan chargers previously) had one good IPL but inconsistent all other seasons. Changes to there colors/franchise/support staff with almost the same team has been good for them. One of the teams to look out for but there batting weakness need to be addressed quickly if they want to be in the Qualifiers ..
When Rahul Dravid is the captain of your side, you always have a chance to win the Fair play award but also play some consistent cricket. Thing that amazes me about RR is the young players they get in and how these guys play like world beaters. This season has been good and they have a great chance to make it to the qualifiers. Looking forward to there game with RCB this weekend.
Last 3 seasons - Champions
CSK and KKR have played consistently good T20 cricket, they have the batting firepower and overseas all round abilities. Winning key matches and crucial ones has been there strength.
This season has been indifferent so far, there batting hasnt come together yet. Still a long way to go and teams who beat CSK and KKR will come closer to qualifiers.
Close to becoming Champions
DD, RCB and MI have been consistenly doing well in IPL but haven’t won the silver ware yet. All the teams look good on paper, some great world class players.
DD have been disappointing, have lost close matches and nothing is going right for them so far. MI and RCB are looking really good, RCB made some smart moves in the auctions to bring bowlers and bowling all rounders. MI Strength is there batting .. these two looks set to get into qualifiers unless they loss there way in the middle part of the tournament.
My Picks for Top 4 this Season
May the best team win, but as a RCB fan this season will be ours for sure.
