IPL AUCTION

image

Hello RCB fans,
So successfully for the third year too an Auction took place, for the spectacle event IPL. In which the cricketers being again auctioned like slaves of the yore, may not be palatable for all, but same is the case with the Football clubs in Europe, which club bids the HIGHEST.
This time around too, Richie Rich from India again had a get together at Mumbai to grab the best out of 66 overseas players nominated to come under the hammer. But this time around these franchises is to put money on such players who are hardly household names in INDIA. Imagine Kieron Pollard, 22, West Indian all- rounder being picked up by MUMBAI INDIANS after close fight or can say four way tie at $ 750,000 between ROYAL CHALLENGER BANGALORE, KKR and CSK. Boss They all want such a super finisher badly. In the end only (MI) Mr. MUKESH AMBANI, was the one getting better off all, other franchises for $2.3 million record price, must say well done Mr.Ambani. Likewise New Zealand speedster Shane Bond goes to Kolkata Knight Riders for $ 1 million. My God those are huge sums to be paid, and will be likely to see whether these players justify the dollars reposed to them.

But the crux of the matter is that none of the Pakistani cricketers was picked by any team owner, In spite of the fact they are T20 WORLD CHAMPIONS, may sound a little fishy. But if listens to the team managements, this happened because, they were once bitter twice shy, since during IPL 2009, those players were denied permission by their government following that 26/11 attack. So this time around nobody wants to take any chances, over that concern, as still there is lack of clarity over availability. But now government Of Pakistan is taking this as a snub over them, and a government party which was to visit INDIA, cancelled their visit only due to non selection of players, Can you Believe It?
Afridi too said “IPL and India have made fun of us and our country by treating this way”. By saying this they are taking things too far, forgetting that they come into such commercial venture not as representatives of their country but as paid individuals.
So leaving this controversy here will hope for the better cricket this time around too, of course we would definitely have enjoyed more if players like Afridi, or others from Pakistan had joined too.
It is conventional wisdom that the one who pays the piper calls the tune.
