Kallis, Uthappa and Manish lead the way for RCB!

I bunked my lectures to watch RCB v/s King'11 match, but was utterly disappointed to see Punjab in a real strong position even before I could reach home. As I continued to watch, my frustration only grew with each passing over, as every RCB bowler was thrashed all over the park.

Bisla was the hero of the day for King's 11 Punjab. He was a unknown face, but I feared whether he would turn out to be Manish Pandey of Punjab, like our superkid played against Deccan Chargers in the previous edition of IPL.His journey to the maiden IPL century was cut short by Kallis, but the joy was only short lived as Ravi Bopara and Jaywardene after the fall of Yuvi took King's11 beyond 200.Even the occasional chanting by the crowd "RCB,RCB,RCB..." couldn't stop King's 11 Punjab.

The target seemed to be daunting. It was not the bowler's day. The batsmen had to cover up for runs leaked during the previous inning.RCB began cautiously, scoring 43 for no loss at the end of 5th over. Then our wonder kid decided to cut loose, he hit two wonderful sixes off Pathan, scoring 18 runs of the 6th over.Siddarth Mallya in the company of Deepika Padukone were smiling no end.I must say, like father, like son. :)

After Pandey departed for 38 runs of 26 balls, Kumble surprised everyone by sending Robin Uthappa. And Robbie didn't disappoint this time, scoring 51 runs of just 21 balls, which included four magnificient sixes! It seemed like the confidence shown in him by the skipper has done a world of good for him.

While all this was happening, the real star for RCB was hiding behind the curtains. He let Pandey and Robbie to go after the bowlers, while holding strong, the other end.He finally cut loose in the 18th over ,hitting 3 sixes and a four off the bowling of Bipul Sharma. By then RCB camp was already celebrating with victory in sight, which was achieved in the very next over.

At the end, it was a magnificient display of batting by the RCBians. A little improvement in bowling would go a long way in the journey of IPL 2010.
