Live from the RCB-MI semi final at D Y Patil stadium!
Harsha Bhogle tells me why going to watch the IPL matches in 3-D is worth it, and snippets from the first innings of the match. Who will be RCB's hero today?
Met Harsha Bhogle at the media center and he told me the 3-D experience is brilliant. He'd just come out of the commentary box after having tested with Hawkeye and said wearing 3-Dglasses and commentating was a challenge.
"The hawkeye lines to illustrate boundaries come straight at you! And player names keep popping up at the positions in which they're standing", he said.
If you aren't at your closest 3-d cinema hall already, go :)
Honours even at the halfway stage of the first innings
MI:77-4 in 9.3 overs.
The night began as best as we could have hoped for. We'd probably have chosen to chase either way so the toss turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
Atleast five journalists in the press box came up to me and whispered, "RCB will take it home today". On asking them why, "Sachin isn't a big match player. And they're too dependent on him", came the reply.
Two overs later, Sachin was gone, and with it rose our chances. But there's a reason why Mumbai finished 10-4 in the league stages and they showed they had the gumption for a fight.
As I write, they've jumped back to 77 runs in 10 overs but crucially, Kumble took another just before the halfway stage. Four wickets and it's looking close with Mr.Pollard still to come in.
For now, we can take solace from the fact that Delhi Daredevils went in with a 10-4 record to the semis last year and were handed a Gilly special.
Who do you think will do it for RCB tonight?
